Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) collaborated with Telkom University, Bandung, and ITTelkom Surabaya with the signing taking place at the Undiksha Singaraja Campus, Monday (29/11/2021). This collaboration includes the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, especially in the use of digital technology as one of the efforts to revive the economic sector.
Deputy Chancellor for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Public Relations of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd., who represented the Chancellor at the meeting said that this collaboration was a very positive step in the framework of strengthening the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education and Independent Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) which is a policy of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology. He also agreed with the program that was initiated related to economic recovery, especially in Bali which was sluggish due to the Covid-19 pandemic. “As stated earlier by the Chancellor of Telkom University, in the future there must be real cooperation, and collaboration for various activities, both student affairs and other programs. Included in MBKM activities, because the activity is two semesters off campus. We must be able to establish cooperation with outside related parties such as PT. Telkom,” he said.
He further conveyed, to make this collaboration a success, the support of faculties and study programs is very much needed. “This program is in the context of making Undiksha and our partners the best, the best in building a better Indonesian society going forward,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Chancellor of Telkom University, Prof. Dr. Adiwijaya, S.Sc., M.Sc., said there were several reasons to be interested in collaborating with Undiksha. First, in terms of geographical conditions. His party wants to make contributions equal distribution between South Bali and North Bali. “We have a lot of cooperation in South Bali. Not yet in North Bali. I think to strengthen usefulness, to strengthen contributions to this nation, the entire region must be,” he said.
Second, in terms of positioning, Undiksha is active in various national competition events, such as the Indonesian Student Business Competition (KBMI), active in Inovillage, and active in Gemastik. “These are superior seeds at Undiksha. This must continue to be motivated, not only with words but by including the national programs that we manage,” he continued.
Delivered further, the principle of cooperation that is woven includes the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. The form of the program can be in the form of MBKM, as well as research and innovation to produce an appropriate technology that is beneficial to society. The implementation of this program is also considered important to provide experience for students in solving problems so that later they are better prepared to enter the community. “This can be done through collaboration between lecturers and students. One of them is the Inovillage program,” he said.
He added that one of the programs that are expected to be realized shortly with Undiksha is the use of digital technology as an effort to improve the economy in society. “This can be through a digital village. If through tourism, it means that later we will develop digital tourism. Because actually, technology is an accelerator for any development, including in this case economic development,” he added.
Rector of ITTelkom Surabaya, Dr. Tri Arief Sardjono, S.T., M.T., said that his university is still relatively young. He hopes to learn a lot from Undiksha, which was first established. “We are grateful that Undiksha is very welcome,” he said. This collaboration is expected to be able to develop student talents, especially in the field of technology and the economic sector. (hms)
