Semarapura- The central government has opened registration for the Kartu Indonesia Pintar Kuliah (KIP-K) scholarship for the 2025/2026 academic year starting February 3 – October 31, 2025. According to that condition, the village government is invited to participate in observing the economic conditions of the community who are prospective applicants to ensure that the distribution of the scholarship program can be right on target. This was conveyed in the socialization of KIP-K in Klungkung Regency held by the Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) Singaraja in collaboration with Klungkung Regency Government, Wednesday (19/2/2025).
The socialization took place at the 1610/Klungkung Kodim Hall which was attended by the Village Heads. Undiksha Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Public Relations, Prof. Dr. I Ketut Sudiana, M.Kes conveyed that this socialization has a strategic goal, namely to ensure the accuracy of the economic data of the people who are entitled to receive KIP-K scholarships. The village heads as the spearhead of government at the village level are important to know the KIP-K scholarship information in depth so that they participate in providing education to the community, especially for those entitled to receive scholarships.
Furthermore, the Vice Rector from Gianyar Regency emphasized two main urgencies in this socialization. First, there are problems in the world of education in Indonesia, such as limited access owned by underprivileged students, the quality of education that still needs to be improved, and the relevance of education that is not optimal. Second, the gross enrollment rate (APK) of higher education is still relatively low. To overcome these problems, the government has prepared a solution in the form of the KIP-K scholarship, which is an education fund for outstanding young people from underprivileged families so that they can receive higher education. “Information about KIP-K is very important for the village heads, so that they can inform it to the people in their village or city. Village heads have a deeper understanding of the socio-economic conditions of the people in their areas, so they are expected to help ensure that this education assistance is right on target. Thus, this national program is expected to be right on target and right on benefits,” he said.
Head of the Klungkung Regency Community and Village Empowerment, Population Control and Family Planning Office, I Wayan Suteja welcomed this socialization activity. He hopes that the KIP-K program can be better known and understood by the community, so it can be opportunities for underprivileged students to continue their education to the university level.

Kartu Indonesia Pintar Kuliah (KIP-K) is one of the Indonesian government programs that aims to provide scholarships for students from underprivileged families so that they can continue their higher education at accredited public and private universities.
KIP-K scholarships cover education costs, such as tuition fees, book fees, and living expenses, which are given to students who meet certain criteria. One of the main requirements to apply is to come from a family classified as economically disadvantaged, with parental income that does not exceed a certain limit set by the government. In addition, applicants must also demonstrate good academic performance and be active in extracurricular activities.
Registration for this scholarship is open from February 3 – October 31, 2025, according to the schedule of each student admission pathway. (hms)
