Singaraja– Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) continues to strive to be present to support village development and provide solutions to existing problems. This is implemented through a community service program which is one of the dharmas of higher education.
One of these programs was carried out by a team of devotees consisting of I Ketut Resika Arthana, S.T., M.Kom, Nice Maylani Asril, S.Psi., M.Psi., Ph.D., Dr. Luh Joni Erawati Dewi, A.A. Gede Yudhi Paramartha, S.Kom, M.Kom and Luh Ayu Tirtayani, S.Psi., M.Psi., Psychologist. This time the community service activity targeted Ringdikit Village, Seririt District, Buleleng Regency.
The team consisting of academics from various fields of study rolled out the program “Optimizing Administration of Ringdikit Village Government by Increasing Information Technology Literacy and Application of the Integrated Smart Village System (SIDECI)”.
The team leader, Resika Arthana, Friday (7/10/2022) explained the implementation of this program in order to fulfill one of the lecturers’ tri dharma tasks, namely community service and supporting Undiksha’s mission, namely to provide competitive, collaborative, accommodative, and innovative community service. It was further stated that the selection of Ringdikit Village was inseparable from previous observations that technological innovation was needed in order to improve service quality and community satisfaction. “The innovation needed is in accordance with the field of community service and service that has been carried out previously in Patas Village, Gerokgak regarding the implementation of the SIDECI population data collection module. Based on the needs in Ringdikit Village, the service team added a Letters module to the system. The system is an innovation to support village government services,” he explained.
Delivered further, this series of services took place in the span of March – October 2022. Specifically on October 7, 2022, a socialization of service products and technology literacy training was carried out, such as optimizing village web and social media to disseminate information, the introduction of electronic signatures, utilization of Google Drive, Google Form, and Mail Merge for village staff.
This PKM was also filled with material on increasing motivation to achieve the performance of village officials by a team member, Nice Maylani Asril. In order to maximize the implementation of the community service, the team also engaged students as resource persons and a companion team consisting of Computer Science study program students, namely Ni Putu Karisma Dewi, Kadek Losinanda Prawira, Made Andika Wiananda, and Mellisa Damayanti. Apart from that, it also involved programmers from UPT ICT, Komang Aditya Pratama, S.Pd.
“We hope that SIDECI can become a pilot project to help improve village administrative services. SIDECI as a software as a service is expected to be used by other villages that need technology implementation,” added Resika Arthana who also serves as Head of Undiksha’s Information and Communication Technology UPT.
The program that was rolled out received appreciation from the Head of Ringdikit Village, I Made Sumadi. He, who was present with the heads of affairs, section heads, and heads of Banjar services and staff at the socialization event, said that the presence of a service team and technological innovation in the village administration was expected to help improve service quality. “We hope there will be continuous assistance related to the application of technology delivered in this service,” he concluded.
