Singaraja- Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) released dozens of students to join the Overseas Teaching Practicum or Praktik Lapangan Persekolahan Luar Negeri (PLP-LN) program, Monday (6/2/2023). The implementation of this program is in collaboration with Prince of Songkla, Thailand and Tarlac Agricultural University, Philippines.
Undiksha’s internationalization program was attended by 18 students consisting of 11 people from the English Education Study Program, 4 people from the Biology Education Study Program, 2 people from the Physics Education Program, and 1 person from the Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program. The students will join the program from February 13 to March 10, 2023.
Students previously followed a series of selection stages, starting from the English Proficiency Test (EPT), English interviews and related P L P programs, and psychological tests.
The release was carried out by Undiksha’s Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I. He was accompanied by the Secretary of the Institute for Quality Assurance and Learning Development, Dr. I Gusti Agung Lanang Parwata and the Head of Undiksha’s Cooperation and Public Relations Agency, I Made Windu Antara Kesiman, PhD.
Rasben Dantes said the implementation of this program is one form of the internationalization program launched by the Rector of Undiksha in 2019. Undiksha wants to become a learning home for the international community, taking degree and non-degree programs through this program. From this program, students/lecturers can also have international experience. In line with this program, Undiksha also has the responsibility/duty to be able to send its academic community, both students and lecturers, abroad in the form of student exchange, faculty exchange, and lecturer exchange. This P.L.P. is one form of implementation.
As a program organizer, Undiksha is here to help students through various schemes, one of which provides funding assistance following the student’s socio-economy. This is expected to provide enthusiasm and motivation for students to participate in both PLP and other international programs.
Rasben Dantes emphasized that students who participate in this program are representatives of Undiksha. Therefore, they are asked to always maintain their attitude and show their academic abilities. Another thing that is expected is that these students can share experiences or good practices with other students after participating in the program.
This PLP-LN is carried out offline. Unlike the previous two years, which were online due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Apart from universities in Thailand and the Philippines, Undiksha collaborates with several universities in Vietnam and Malaysia. (hms)
