Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) Singaraja, Bali inaugurated and conducted yudisium as many as 51 professional undergraduate teachers teaching in remote, frontline, and outermost area (SM3T) originated from 19 universities in the country. The previous participants were alumni of SM3T 2016 who had been serving for a year in rural areas of Indonesia known as 3T (front, outer, and remote).
In recognition of their devotion, the participants were given the opportunity to attend Pendidikan Profesi Guru or PPG (a teacher professional education) in a dormitory for one year for free.
The inauguration was also in relation to the professional teacher field for the fifth time since the PPG SM-3T. During the implementation of PPG after SM-3T which had been held by the Directorate General of Higher Education, Undiksha has been always trusted as the organizer.
“This trust given is an indicator of the education quality in Undiksha. Not all LPTK (institution for educating prospective teachers) are given the chances to manage Teacher Professional Education (PPG). This achievement certainly encourages the Undiksha community, the Balinese people, and also Dikti because Undiksha has been able to educate prospective professional teachers, “he asserted.
Nyoman Jampel also stated that year by year, there have been improvement of implementation quality when conducting PPG SM3T in the largest education campus in the Island of the Gods.
Nevertheless, he still encouraged so the achievement of Undiksha in the implementation of activities and other competitive programs continued increasing. If improvement is well maintained, it will be beneficial for the development of Undiksha for Bali, as well as the development of Indonesia in general.
“Education is the key to the development of a nation,” said Jampel while inviting the graduates to keep working hard to apply the four competencies of a teacher.
In the meantime, the Coordinator of Maju Bersama Mencerdaskan Indonesia or MBMI program (a program to develop education in remote, frontline, and outermost area in Indonesian) Undiksha, Gede Nurjaya, said that the fifth PPG SM-3T Undiksha was given a quota of 110 people, but only 105 people reported and actively participated who distributed five departments, namely English (31), Indonesian (28), Counseling (18), Physical Exercise (15), and Primary Teachers (13).
The participants of the fifth PPG SM-3T Undiksha were alumni of educational graduates from 19 universities spread across Indonesia. Of the number of active participants, those who have been successfully completed and inaugurated at this time are as many as 51 people. “The remaining 54 people are still waiting for the announcement of the competency test results,” he added.
