Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) received a visit from the Ten November Institute of Technology (ITS) Surabaya, on Friday (23/8/2019). The meeting which took place in the Rectorate’s Ganesha I Room discussed various matters related to the development of education and efforts to increase income from the business sector.
The presence of a group of universities that are famous for their science and technology education was led by Prof. Ir. Joni Hermana, M.Sc., Ph.D. He is the rector for the 2015-2019 period. After the meeting which took place warmly, he said that visiting Undiksha was a commitment for a long time, but only now could it be realized. “Actually, this visit is part of our long-standing commitment. Because when I was still the Chancellor, I was invited to come share experiences, “he explained.
At the meeting, the internationalization program at ITS, asset, and business management was presented. Besides that, there is also communication of cooperation in the fields of research, publications, and learning innovations. This includes working on programs in collaboration with local governments, especially those related to science and technology. “Hopefully what we do at ITS can be an inspiration. Including working on programs offered by the local government, we are ready to support Undiksha. Including fields that are more specific to science and technology,” he said. Joni Hermana also assessed that Undiksha is now very progressive and has extraordinary energy to make progress. “In the development of ITS, many important people from Bali played a role. I think we work well together,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., revealed that ITS has become one of the tertiary institutions that have experienced very rapid development and have high competitiveness. Not on the national level anymore, but also internationally. Therefore, Undiksha, which is still young, wants to adopt the strategic steps being rolled out. “It’s like walking in a wilderness, it can already get through it. So that we at Undiksha want to study with ITS,” he said.
Specifically for the internationalization program, ITS has been running since 2007. Undiksha also wants to know the learning patterns that are applied to roll out a similar program that was launched in 2019. “ITS has been running for 12 years. Of course, you already have extraordinary experience,” said the Chancellor from Nusa Dua, Badung Regency. (hms)
