Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) received a visit from the Director General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), Prof. Ir. Nizam, Thursday afternoon (7/10/2021). He was accompanied by the Director of Resources, Dr. Mohammad Sofwan Effendi, Director of Learning and Student Affairs (Belmawa), Prof. dr. Aris Junaidi, Institutional Director, Dr. Ir. Ridwan, and Head of the Human Resources Bureau, Dyah Ismayanti, M.Ed. The visit was in the context of monitoring and evaluating the Integrated Health Laboratory Development Project, assisting in the preparation of documents and procedures for proposing new study programs, as well as socializing the Indonesian Smart College Card (KIPK) and Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM).
The visitation of these officials was accepted by the Vice-Chancellors, accompanied by the heads of institutions and faculties as well as the Head of the Bureau. The activities are carried out separately. Monitoring and evaluation of laboratory development took place in the Ganesha I Rectorate room which was attended by Prof. Nizam was accompanied by Sofwan Effendi and from Undiksha by the Vice Chancellor for Planning, Administration, Finance and Human Resources, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, and the Head of the General and Finance Bureau, Ni Luh Wayan Yasmiati, S.H., M.Pd.
The meeting begins with the presentation of development progress by project implementers and construction management. Based on the data, until the 37th week, the realization has reached 95.12 percent, higher than the planned 88.44 percent. Ongoing work consists of architectural work, structural/concrete work, mechanical-electrical work, and connecting bridgework. The activity was followed by a field survey. In between, Prof. Nizam expressed his appreciation for the implementation of the project with funds sourced from the State Sharia Securities (SBSN) because the implementation system, time management, and financing remained under control. In addition, based on his observations, the quality of the work was quite good. “I think it must be maintained and must be maintained until the whole building is finished,” he said.
He also invited implementers and workers to continue to prioritize work safety, including anticipating this development into a cluster for the spread of Covid-19. At this meeting, the Deputy Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Lasmawan had expressed Undiksha’s desire to be able to build an educational laboratory and hoped that there would be support from the central government. Responding to this, Prof. Nizam emphasized that he supports the wishes and efforts of universities to improve the quality of services for their students. However, the procurement of development needs to be studied, considering the number of state universities is very large.
Meanwhile, the Director of Belmawa, Aris Junaidi, explained the KIPK and Merdeka Learning program for Merdeka Campus. He explained that KIP college had made extraordinary progress. In 2020 the total budget is 1.3 trillion and in 2021 it will increase to 2.5 trillion. “I think this is an extraordinary budget for the College KIP,” he said.
Especially for Merdeka Belajar, he was accompanied by the Vice-Chancellor for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Public Relations Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd., explained that in 2021, the Ministry of Education and Culture has collaborated with LPDP with a budget of almost 1.5 trillion. Students are expected to take advantage of this opportunity. There are four programs offered, namely Kampus Mengajar, Independent Student Exchange, Certified Independent Internships and Studies, and International Mobility Scholarships.
Assistance in the preparation of documents and procedures for proposing new study programs was provided by the Director of Institutions, Dr. Ir. Ridwan. He was accompanied by the Deputy Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Undiksha Cooperation, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I., hopes that in proposing a study program, not to lose the identity of an educational college. Likewise with Undiksha. “The ministry in the future will focus on education, so the research is more educational, the program is more educational, so that identity is not lost,” he said.
Based on the explanation of the Undiksha Vice-Chancellor, Rasben Dantes, for the last two years, Undiksha proposed 29 new study programs to the ministry, consisting of D-3 to S-3 programs.
