Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) again received an allocation of the Covid-19 vaccine. This second batch of allocations is intended for one hundred people consisting of management, lecturers, and staff. Vaccination was carried out at the Undiksha Auditorium, Wednesday (7/4/2021).
Vaccination participants consisted of 26 people aged over 60 years who had previously received their first vaccination. These recipients consist of leaders and lecturers. While the others are lecturers and staff who have never received a vaccine.
Undiksha Vaccination Team Leader, Dr. dr. Ni Luh Kadek Alit Arsani, S.Ked., M.Biomed., explained that in carrying out this vaccination, Undiksha had formed a team coordinated with the Buleleng District Health Office to help achieve immunization targets in Indonesia. This is also in accordance with the assignment given by the Director General of Higher Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture to medical faculties in Indonesia to assist and play an active role in the implementation of vaccinations. The medical personnel involved in this vaccination came from the Undiksha Faculty of Medicine, consisting of 17 doctors and health workers from midwives and nurses who have the status of lecturers in the midwifery study program. In addition, there are also health workers on duty at the Undiksha clinic.
According to the schedule that has been designed, vaccinations are expected to be completed in June 2021 for lecturers and staff. However, this still needs to be coordinated with the Health Office regarding vaccine availability. Apart from that, they are also waiting for regulations from the government, including those related to student vaccination. “We are waiting for directions and regulations from the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education and Culture. Indeed, according to the instructions, those who are entitled to get the vaccine are from the age of 18 to 60 years and over. It also depends on whether there is an orbiter or not, we will do spanning according to the vaccine administration procedure,” she explained.
Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd became one of the recipients of the second vaccine. He admitted that he had no symptoms. On this occasion, I thanked the Regional Secretary of the Province of Bali, the Secretary of the Buleleng Regency, and the Health Office for providing support for Undiksha residents to be vaccinated more quickly.
He further conveyed that the acceleration of this vaccination is a form of support for the direction of the Minister of Education and Culture which expects tertiary institutions to be able to conduct face-to-face lectures, even with a strict prokes program in August-September or in the new 2021/2022 school year. “Now with regard to that, we did convey to the Bali Covid-19 Task Force so that all components of Undiksha, both lecturers, staff, and students in July, finally we hope that all of them will have vaccinated,” he said. Based on the data, the number of Undiksha lecturers and employees who have received the vaccine has reached 300 people. About 500 people are still on the waiting list. This amount is expected to be touched soon and can be completed in the third wave. (hms)
