Singaraja- The Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) Postgraduate School “gave birth” to two doctors. Namely I Putu Mas Dewantara and M. Mugni Assapari. Both of them who took the Language Education Study Program took an open exam, on Tuesday (28/5/2019).
Promovendus, Mas Dewantara raised the dissertation “Development of Indonesian Language Attitude-Oriented MPK Learning Tools at Ganesha University of Education”. It was briefly explained that with this device, Undiksha students not only excel in mastering their respective fields but also have polite language when communicating. This research was motivated by the global problem of low positive attitudes towards Indonesians. “Now many language errors are found. There is also the impression that in Indonesian, what is important is that the meaning is conveyed. So there are other things that are sacrificed. “Therefore, this device is intended to overcome this problem,” he said.
This learning tool, he continued, is quite valid, practical, and effective. Therefore, it can be recommended for MPK Indonesian language lecturers to use it in learning. It cannot be denied that to get a dissertation as expected, there are a number of obstacles. However, it is a challenge. “Two years of research. There are indeed obstacles along the way. But I consider that a challenge,” he added. This Undiksha Indonesian Language and Literature Education Lecturer received a very satisfactory title with a GPA of 3.82.
Meanwhile, Promovendus and Mugni Assapari raised the dissertation “Development of Learning Tools for the General Subject English I with a Contextual Approach for Students at Mataram State Islamic University”. His research was carried out by taking tourism objects on Lombok Island, which is his homeland. “On the island of Lombok, there are many tourist destinations. “The research is about all cultural destinations in Lombok,” he explained. It took about 1.5 years to complete his dissertation. “I had to make four devices. The one that took me the longest to make was the book. There are fifteen books. “One has six materials,” he explained. This man, who was born on September 17, 1983, received a Very Satisfactory graduation rating with a GPA of 3.66. Not with the title of Praise because the study period exceeds six semesters.
Undiksha Postgraduate Director, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd., hopes that by holding doctoral degrees, the two doctorates will continue to develop their qualities and can further contribute to the development of education in Indonesia, especially in the field of languages. “Of course, we hope that the work produced can support educational development, especially in language,” he said.
