Denpasar- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) is one of the universities participating in the 2024 Bali Regional Student Art Week (Peksimida). Undiksha demonstrated its abilities in ten competitions held at the Indonesian Institute of Art (ISI) Denpasar on Tuesday, July 9, 2024.
Undiksha competed in various categories, including female dangdut singing competition, female poetry reading, monologue, photography, short story writing, poetry writing, social campaign media design, comic strip, female pop Indonesia singing, and female keroncong singing.
The Vice Rector for Students Affairs, Alumni, and Public Relations, Prof. Dr. I Ketut Sudiana, M.Kes., who served as the Head of Organizing Committee for Peksimida BPSMI Bali in 2024, stated that this event serves as a platform to select artists from both public and Private Universities (PTN/PTS) in Bali for participation in the 17th National Student Art Week (Peksiminas), organized by AND held by BPSMI Jakarta at Jakarta State University from September 2 to 7, 2024. He also expressed his appreciation to artists, committee members, and all related companies for their support in making this event possible.
He further noted that this year’s Peksimida Bali saw participation from 16 universities, involving 134 artists who had previously registered and undergone administrative selection at BPTI, and were officially recognized as Peksiminas participants. Prof. Sudiana also mentioned that in the 17th Peksiminas, BPSMI Bali will participate in 14 competitors of the 15 available competitions. The only competition not participated in by BPSMI Bali is Lakon writing.
This event was officially opened by the Head of BPSMI Bali, who is also the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Students Affairs, and Alumni at ISI Denpasar, Dr. Anak Agung Gede Rai Remawa. He emphasized that Peksiminast is a prestigious national-level competition that should receive strong support from the regional government to bring recognition to Bali. Therefore, the support of all stakeholders is crucial to ensuring the success of these events.
