This study program, which was only established on June 10, 2014, has been accredited B based on BAN-PT Decree Number 1142/SK/BAN-PT/S/IV/2017. “This accreditation was obtained after two years of existence. When you don’t have graduates yet. “This is very encouraging because it went straight to B. Usually, most people start from C,” said Head of Study Program, Ratna Artha Windari, S.H., M.H., Friday (23/11/2018).
Even though he is still very young, this study program has been able to show its teeth. He has achieved various regional, national, and international achievements against other universities that are considered prestigious. In 2018 alone, from January to early November, there were already 9 winners presented by students. Namely, second place in the Law Faculty Debate in Bali held by Warmadewa University, third place in the Law Creative Week between universities in Bali, first place in the national Business Plan Competition held by the Indonesian Education University (UPI), first place at the university level in the selection of Undiksha planning generation ambassadors, 3rd place at the provincial level in the Constitution Week event, 2nd place at the national LKTI Business Plan Manufair competition, 2nd place at the Bali Debate Competition at Mahasarawati University, 2nd place at the national Thinktank National Business Competition at the Kalimantan Institute of Technology and 3rd place at the national essay competition held by Young Writer Community in Mataram. Proud accomplishments were also achieved, namely successfully obtaining funding for the Village Development Grant Program (PHBD) and becoming an Indonesian delegate in the Asia Youth International Model United Nations. “Achievements have emerged since 2015. Even though the study program is still young, it can already compete. “We continue to strive to improve the quality of both students and teaching staff,” he said.
For the 2019/2020 academic year, the student admission quota is around 200 people. An increase from this year to around 160 people. “This year and before, students were not only from Bali. But also other regions in Indonesia, such as Sumatra, Kalimantan, Central Java, and Papua. “The number is quite large,” explained the graduate of the Bachelor of Laws at Brawijaya University.
Like the others, this study program also provides scholarships for students, ranging from bidikmisi, PPA, chancellor’s scholarships, and banking. In lectures, students are not only encouraged to understand legal theory but also practice, such as drafting legislation, judicial practice, legal skills, and so on. “Law graduates are produced in such a way by using a KKNI-based curriculum. It contains courses that are balanced, both in terms of theory and practice. “We also strive to excel in developing research and science-based on Tri Hita Karana,” he said.
Even though they are based in educational universities, graduates of this study program not only have prospects as legal educators. But also legal staff in all government institutions, both central and regional. Apart from that, you can also become a formal legal practitioner, or consultant at Legal Aid Institutions, socio-political organizations, non-governmental organizations, multinational/transnational companies, non-government organizations, or legal entrepreneurs. “There are quite a lot of prospects for graduates,” he explained.
