Singaraja- Thousands of Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) students who will immediately carry out Real Work Lectures (KKN) were given training, on Wednesday (22/5/2019). Students from various study programs are asked to be able to implement Tri Hita Karana. A philosophy that is also the basis for realizing Undiksha’s vision of becoming a superior university in Asia by 2045. “We really emphasize provision regarding discipline, responsibility, good attitude values based on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy,” said the Head of the Learning Development Institute and Undiksha Quality Assurance, Prof. Dr. AAIN Marhaeni, M.A.
According to him, the KKN program is not just a routine that runs every year. However, from this, students gain an understanding of life in the village as well as the needs and problems that surround the community. “From this, students will be sensitive to environmental problems, and recognize the dynamics of village life which will later become a real stage of life,” she stressed.
The material provided in the briefing which took place in a number of places concerned ethics, social culture, health, community economics, education, and so on. “In the material prepared, we always emphasize that the foundation is Tri Hita Karana. “For example, regarding the health of village communities, one of the programs is waste management,” said this academic from Klungkung Regency.
This year’s KKN program is expected to be better than before, including in terms of the results felt by the village. This cannot be separated from the role of the supervisor. “We hope that the supervising lecturers can spend more time in the field or take part in activities. “You can meet the community so you know the acceptance of the program in the village,” she added.
Previously, the Head of the Undiksha KKN Center, Drs. I Putu Panca Adi, M.Pd., said that the KKN took place from 26 June to 10 August 2019 and was attended by around 2,180 students, spread across 28 villages in Gianyar Regency, and 26 villages each in Jembrana, Klungkung, and Karangasem Regencies. The implementation this year is a little different. Namely, there is a request from the district and village governments. “In the past, we asked the village. Now the village is asking. To change this, we are carrying out FGDs by inviting the District Government through related agencies. But out of seven districts, only these four came. Badung and Denpasar were not invited because we considered them already advanced,” he explained.
Through this program, students are also expected to be able to support the acceleration of village development through the programs being rolled out, including social culture, creative economy, health, appropriate technology, and disaster mitigation as recommended by the central government. “We hope that this KKN can support village development. Student placement is also seen from the perspective of village needs. It is also hoped that from this, superior future leaders will emerge in accordance with Undiksha’s vision. “We just have to fill it, give the best,” added Panca Adi. (hms)
