Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education confirmed five professors or Professors, on Wednesday (23/8/2023). Professors in various fields are encouraged to continue to innovate amidst the disruption phenomenon. Apart from that, it also always contributes to realizing Undiksha as a Legal Entity State University (PTN-BH).
The professors consist of Prof. Dr. Drs. I Wayan Kertih, M.Pd in social studies education, Prof. Dr. Urged Made Citrawathi, M.Kes in the field of Health Education, Prof. Dr. Maria Goreti Rini Kristiantari, M.Pd in the field of Elementary School Indonesian Language Education, Prof. Dr. Ni Made Pujani, M.Sc in Science Education, and Prof. Dr. Ni Ketut Rapi, M.Pd in the field of Research and Evaluation of Physics Education. The inauguration was carried out by the Head of the Undiksha Senate, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Sudiana, M.Pd.
Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd in his remarks emphasized that the achievement of professorships by lecturers is not the ultimate goal of an academic. Because basically the essence of education is how to make the people who are educated and trained to have meaning for themselves, for the environment, and for the nation and state. This confirms that the capacity and value of a professor are not solely determined by the degree awarded. But it will be more appreciated if you can contribute ideas and ideas as well as take concrete actions that are beneficial to society. “Attachment to the title of professor does not mean stopping steps to innovate. Undiksha is currently improving, but the community is being tempted by various disruption phenomena. Of course, this should be of concern to professors and help institutions to respond to existing challenges,” he stressed.
He further stated that currently, Undiksha has 61 permanent professors. In 2025, it is targeted to reach 100 people. Development of Human Resources (HR) in Undiksha’s capacity as a Public Service Agency is an obligation and an effort by Undiksha to become PTN BH.
As an educational institution, Undiksha continues to improve and strives to improve quality with various strategic steps. This is expected to be supported by synergy with regional and provincial governments, related stakeholders, as well as allied and similar universities. (hms)
