Singaraja- Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) inaugurated four professors on Thursday (30/3/2023). These new professors are expected to contribute to the institution’s development so Undiksha can be more competitive.
The professors are Prof. Dr. Luh Putu Sendratari, M.Hum in cultural studies, Prof. Dr. Ni Luh Putu Sri Adnyani, S.Pd., M.Hum in linguistics, Prof. Dr. Kadek Suranata, S.Pd., M.Pd., Kons in guidance and counselling, and Prof. Dr. I Gusti Ayu Purnamawati, S.E., M.Si., Ak in economics. All professors received a Decree from the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology in December 2022.
The inauguration was held in Undiksha Auditorium, Singaraja, by the Head of Undiksha Senate, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Sudiana, M.Pd., accompanied by Undiksha Rector, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd.
In his speech, Rector Jampel gave appreciation and congratulations to these new professors. He also appreciated their enthusiasm and commitment to submitting proposals to the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research. The success of achieving the professor position is expected to be supported by increasing academic quality, competence, skills, and character.
“How can you make yourself better and always try to develop your knowledge and develop your institution to achieve its vision,” he said.
It is also expected that this professor can contribute more than others in developing the university to be more competitive. Rector Jampel emphasized that the professor position is the highest academic position for a lecturer. This position is sought and desired by lecturers to show an advantage.
In 2025, Undiksha targets to have 100 professors. Currently, the number is only 60 professors. This target is in response to the Main Performance Indicators of Higher Education and to fulfil the requirements for Undiksha to lead to a State University with Legal Status (or PTN-BH). Therefore, Rector Jampel encouraged Head Lecturers who have met the criteria to submit proposals immediately. “With before the number of professors we have today, we can run fast now. I am sure that the addition of this professor will accelerate Undiksha to achieve its goal of becoming a University of Excellence Based on the Tri Hita Karana Philosophy in Asia by 2045,” he concluded.
