Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) continues to strengthen staffing capacity and performance. Its performance is directed to be aligned with the university’s vision and mission and strategic plans. This was emphasized by the Deputy Chancellor for Planning, Administration, Finance, and Human Resources of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd., when opening and providing material in a workshop on preparing the Employee Performance Targets (SKP) plan at the Bali Taman Hotel, Buleleng, Monday (25/10/2021).
The workshop, which was attended by the Deputy Dean and Deputy Director II as well as functional officials, was a follow-up to changes in the staffing structure emphasized by the 2021 Permenpan-RB, that every institution, and work unit, must transform the performance of its employees as soon as possible. Therefore, according to Lasmawan, this activity is intended to provide insight and provide skills to BLU Undiksha employees so that they understand and are skilled in preparing performance plans to be achieved in units of the year.
It was further explained, the SKP which has been known and implemented by employees, of course, must also be changed or revised concerning the latest Permenpan-RB, so that it is in line with the bills that are accommodated in the institutional vision, mission, and strategic plans. This is considered important because so far there have been indications that employee performance targets have not fully supported and accelerated the achievements of institutional performance indicators. Even when talking about employee performance, it means talking about the performance of institutions or organizations. “For this reason, synchronization between the Ministry of Education and Culture’s strategic plan, then Undiksha’s strategic plan, the Chancellor’s performance contract with the Minister, the Chancellor’s performance contract with the Dean, must be embodied in every aspect and performance indicator of the employees themselves. This is the essence of today’s workshop,” said Lasmawan.
The Deputy Chancellor who once served as Dean of the Faculty of Economics Undiksha further conveyed the capabilities of current employees. If it is related to the bill of the times, it still requires some touches, especially those related to understanding, skills, and awareness in using and managing information, including using technological facilities. “Therefore, through this workshop as well, how can an employee have technological literacy and information literacy? Because not all information and data owned by an organization including Undiksha is public. There is some information that is excluded,” he said.
To support the acceleration of the achievement of the vision and mission as well as the Strategic Plan, Lasmawan emphasized that the role of employees is very important. In this case, an employee must have at least four components in him. First, they must be competent in their field, following the main tasks and functions given. “For that, he can carry out further studies, or upgrades, or upgrade his abilities through workshops, training, or similar programs,” he said. Second, they must have loyalty to themselves and their organization. “Because without the willingness of the organization where he works, and is employed, of course, good performance is still far away. Therefore, when an employee can declare and exercise loyalty to himself and his organization, I believe that the employee’s performance will be good,” he said. Then the third must have insight, ability, and skills that lead to creativity, critical, collaboration, and communication. This means that with this mastery and skills, an employee can play a role and give meaning to the organization where he works. Lastly is technology literacy. Like it or not, like it or not, the current era and the current world bill of mastery of skills, management of technology, and information are urgently needed.
With these four abilities, Lasmawan believes Undiksha going forward with the support of the performance of its employees, the International Reputable University in Education and Leadership (IRUEL) is not difficult to achieve. “Of course commitment, togetherness, and the willingness to work from all academics are the keys to the success of the achievements this institution will achieve,” he concluded.
This workshop lasted until Wednesday, October 27, 2021. To provide an understanding to the participants, speakers from the Regional Office of the National Personnel Agency (BKN) X presented material on the preparation of SKP and the Bali Directorate General of Treasury with material on financial management.
