Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education Postgraduate Program (Undiksha) is again holding the Global Conference on Teaching, Assessment, and Learning in Education (GC-TALE), Friday (12/8/2022). This conference focuses on raising the topic of change and innovation in learning, assessment, and research in the midst of and after the Covid-19 pandemic.
The conference, which took place online, invited four experts as the main speakers, namely Prof. Peg Sutton from Indiana University, America; Prof. Dr. H. Muchlas Samani, M.Pd., Director of LAMDIK; Dr. John Vong from Monash Australia, and Dr. Rahmawati from Undiksha.
The Chair of the Committee, Trianasari, Ph.D., CHE., said that the Covid-19 pandemic had disrupted education and other important sectors throughout the world. Governments, communities, and stakeholders in affected countries have paid attention and have taken collective action including the implementation of the “New Normal” in almost every part of life. However, this pandemic continues and can trigger delays in the education process. “Because of this condition, issues related to education globally are becoming increasingly important to pay attention to. All students need to ensure their access to education even in this unfavorable situation,” she said.
In other words, she continued, education for both children and adults must be a priority. Likewise with aspects of assessment and research carried out by lecturers. Through this conference, it is hoped that ideas, ideas, and solutions can be born that can be applied to overcome existing problems. “Therefore, it is indeed important to pay special attention to changes and innovations to enhance research and learning during and after Covid-19,” she said.
At this conference, the committee received 106 papers. In addition to oral presentations, authors can also submit papers for publication in journals. Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., expressed his appreciation for the return of this conference. He considered that the theme carried was in line with the learning needs of the 21st century. “The pandemic has accelerated digitalization in learning and brought about changes in our education system. Therefore, the exploration of innovation to improve learning outcomes is very, very important to do. I hope this conference will provide many insights about preparing our higher education for the future,” he concluded. (hms)
