The Undiksha Service Team through the Community Partnership Program (PKM) held training in Pondok Hamlet, Petandakan Village, Buleleng District, Buleleng Regency, Bali Province. PKM, which carries the topic of MSME Wood Crafts (Bowl and Bokor), partners with UD. Works of Art and UD. Nyiur Indah was held on Sunday, 11 August 2019.
In managing MSMEs, UD. The artwork is located on Jalan Pulau Irian, Banyuning Village, Buleleng District, and UD. Nyiur Indah, which is located in Pondok Pondok, Petandakan Village, Buleleng District, Buleleng Regency, Bali Province, the two partners run conventional businesses both in marketing and financial management. Craftsmen do not have a catalog of products that have been made or those that have just been released so if there are visits from domestic or foreign tourists they do not have documentation that can hinder the transaction process.
In informal communication, the problem was that MSMEs wanted to market their products nationally and even directly abroad. However, they are aware of the limited human resources and funds that exist to be realized. So that This becomes a concern that must be addressed immediately so that the craftsmen get solutions to the problems they are facing. This idea is then written in a cooperation proposal which forms the basic foundation of the partnership program with the community to be implemented immediately. So that through DRPM 2019 funding, this activity can be realized in the form of training and mentoring.
The training led by Mr. Agus Aan Jiwa Permana, S.Kom, M.C. was carried out in three sessions. The first is online marketing training (E-Commerce) which teaches artisans to upload their handicrafts through online marketing media in the form of websites to market their products nationally and even directly abroad. In the second session, the MSME group was also provided with financial training delivered by Mr. Made Aristia Prayudi, S.A., M.Sc., Ak., C.A. This training is in the form of calculations to determine the cost of goods sold as well as software-based-training.
In the third session, there was product innovation development training to increase buyer interest in buying handicraft products, not only from housewives but also from children and adolescents who are under the care of Mrs. Kadek Wirahuni, S.Pd., M.Pd. All training processes are carried out to assist MSMEs in marketing their products, developing innovative products, and being able to determine the right price for the products they produce so they don’t lose money in the future. Then at the end of the training, it was closed with remarks from the chairman of the committee and submission of catalogs for craftsmen that could be used at events or exhibitions to introduce products that have been made by craftsmen.
The target of the PKM activities held with partners is to increase the ability to market products online by utilizing e-commerce. Increased ability to manage financial transactions and business inventory. Producing a catalog for product documentation to make it easier for MSMEs to participate in exhibitions and festivals.
