Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) is holding the 7th National Innovative Research Seminar (Senari), Tuesday (20/10/2020). The seminar, which is hosted by the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), serves as a medium for disseminating critical and innovative research results. The seminar, which took place virtually, presented two speakers, namely Dewi Padmo, M.A., Ph.D., from the Open University and Prof. Glykeria Fragkiadaki, Ph.D., from Monash University, Australia.
The Head of the Committee, I Nyoman Laba Jayanta, S.Pd., M.Pd., explained that the seminar which carried the theme “Educational Innovation in the New Normal Era” was attended by dozens of participants who did not only come from Undiksha but also from other universities in Bali and outside Bali. In addition to the presentation of material from the two speakers, there was also a presentation of research results covering four fields of science, namely education, social humanities, science technology, and health. “The holding of this seminar is one of the strategies to build a culture of academics in the field of research. The research in question is innovative, has advantages and uniqueness in order to strengthen national identity in the new normal era,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Undiksha Chancellor, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., in his remarks hoped that through this seminar something would be produced to support the progress of the nation, especially in the provision of education amid the Covid-19 pandemic. “Through this, we can share, and strengthen each other’s insights related to research, and henceforth we can contribute to the progress of the nation and state. And also maybe in this activity which in the condition of covid-19, still has better quality, results or benefits when compared to face to face,” he said.
The results of the research disseminated through this seminar are also expected to be published in reputable international journals. It was also emphasized that this seminar could spur the implementation of community service and research, including those related to Covid-19. “This research and dedication can be related to the impact of Covid, both social, economic, and psychological impacts,” said the chancellor from Nusa Dua, Badung Regency. Jampel added that as an academic institution, in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, Undiksha continued to implement the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely education and teaching, research, and community service.
