Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) held its 57th graduation ceremony, on Friday (30/11/2018). Followed by 447 graduates from Diploma III, Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral levels. These graduates are believed to be able to compete in facing the Industrial Revolution 4.0. “If I dare to say that Undiksha alumni have a critical ranking. “In the sense of being able to solve problems, especially facing the industrial revolution 4.0,” said Undiksha Chancellor, Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd.
The Chancellor from Badung Regency said that while receiving education, these graduates were also required to be creative by providing self-development knowledge. Apart from that, there is also the implementation of collaborative education, one of which is increasing mastery of foreign languages in collaboration with educational institutions abroad. “Character education is also a priority. Character in the broadest sense. Graduates are not only polite or courteous. But how do graduates dare to take responsibility, think about the future, be adaptive, and have social and cultural sensitivity? That’s what we woke up to. “So that our alumni become people of integrity,” he said.
Character education, he continued, is reflected in Undiksha’s vision and mission which elaborates the teachings of Tri Hita Karana in its program buildings and activities. The entire breadth of campus academic development is directed at cultivating and implementing character education as a goal of national education development. “Through a number of things, our alumni will definitely be able to compete. Now there are many alumni who can be accepted for work without having academic qualifications. They can compete there. “The personality is seen,” he explained.
It is hoped that graduates will not immediately become complacent. But continue to develop to realize all potential and become superior human resources, become superior educators, in order to realize the Golden Generation 2045. “We want this generation to be able to support Indonesia’s development in a better direction,” added the former Deputy Chancellor II of Undiksha.
At the graduation which took place at the Undiksha Auditorium, the best graduates from all levels were also crowned. The doctoral program was achieved by Dr. Ni Made Rai Wisudariani from the Department of Language Education with a GPA of 3.91 with a very satisfactory rating. Master’s program, Ulan Sari, M.Pd., majoring in Guidance Counseling with a GPA of 3.86 with honors. Meanwhile, from S-1, Made Sugi Antara, majoring in English Education, received a GPA of 3.86 with a very satisfactory title, and from D-III, he achieved Imanuel Joel Soumokil, A.Md., majoring in Maritime Aquaculture with a GPA of 3.81, a commendable title.
