Singaraja- The election for the Dean of the Faculty of Sports and Health (Pildek-FOK) of the University of Education of Ganesha (Undiksha) for the 2019-2023 period took place, on Wednesday (31/7/2019). The incumbent, I Ketut Budaya Astra, S.Pd., M.Or., was once again entrusted with being the “skipper”. He got 13 votes, much higher than the candidate, Dr. I Gusti Lanang Agung Parwata, S.Pd., M.Kes., who only got three votes through direct elections like General Elections (Pemilu).
Before FOK Senate members cast their voting rights, the two candidates presented their vision and mission. Lanang Parwata, who received number 1, carries the vision of creating an excellent faculty in learning based on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy with a global perspective in 2023. He offers various types of programs. In the institutional field, in the form of developing an exemplary, diligent, active, diligent, and tenacious attitude of the entire FOK academic community. There is also encouraging collective participation of the FOK community immediately to achieve their main tasks, functions, and best performance as well as strengthening institutional governance that is accountable, transparent, and public image of Undiksha. Education Sector, in the form of curriculum development based on SNPT and KKNI, based on the philosophy of Tri Hita Karana to build human resources with character. There is also developing character education to produce graduates with character, upholding truth, honesty, and obedience. There is also expanding faculty promotions to attract prospective students and improve the quality of student input.
This academic from Karangasem also offers staffing programs, one of which is improving the quality and professionalism of human resources for lecturers and staff through further studies, training, workshops, symposiums, seminars, and apprenticeship programs in a sustainable merit-based system. There is also the field of student affairs, one of which is increasing student development, both intra-curricular and extra-curricular to improve the performance of student organizations through mechanistic and humane assistance. “These are some of the programs that I will run if I am entrusted with being the Dean,” he said.
Although he has not been able to become number one in the faculty whose campus is located in Jinengdalem Village, Lanang Parwata is not discouraged. He emphasized that he still supports the elected deans to bring the faculties to be better. “Our commitment is the same, to bring this faculty to the better,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Astra Culture candidate carries the vision of becoming a superior Faculty in producing human resources in sports and health based on Tri Hita Karana in Indonesia in 2045. To realize this, he offers a series of programs. There is an increase in the quantity and quality of input (prospective students), development of entrepreneurship and business units, increase in the quality and quantity of facilities and infrastructure, improve the quality of learning and graduates as well as an increase in the development of research, community service, and publications. “The development of quality assurance and accreditation is also a concern. Including the improvement of excellent service,” he explained. Regarding the trust given to lead the next four years, he admitted that he greatly appreciated and asked for support from all faculties and university academics in implementing the program. “I’m trying to make FOK better,” he added.
Head of the FOK Senate, I Gede Suwiwa, S, Pd., M.Pd., said that the construction of the faculty has been going well so far. However, it is hoped that the Elected Deans can take innovative steps to increase competitiveness. “We from the Senate will also oversee his performance.
