Singaraja- Registration for Rector candidates at Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) for the 2023-2027 period has been extended. This extension was due to the presence of one prospective candidate who did not meet the administrative requirements. This decision was taken at the Undiksha Senate meeting on Wednesday (2/11/2022).
The meeting, which took place in the Ganesha Room III of the Undiksha Rectorate building, was led by the Undiksha Senate head, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Sudiana, M.Pd. On this occasion, it was explained that based on the report of the Rector’s election executive committee submitted to the Senate, since the registration of prospective Rector candidates was opened from 26 September to 14 October 2022, there were four applicants, namely Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd., Prof. Dr. I Nengah Suparta, M.Sc., Dr. I Ketut Sudiana, M. Kes., and Dr. I Wayan Artanayasa, S.Pd., M.Pd.
Based on the report on the results of the administrative verification, which was also submitted by the Rector Selection Executive Committee through a Senate meeting, the prospective candidate for Prof. Dr. I Nengah Suparta, M.Sc., was declared disqualified as a candidate for Rector because he did not meet the administrative requirements. “Those who meet the requirements are Wayan Lasmawan, I Ketut Sudiana, and Artanayasa. And those who do not meet the complete requirements are I Nengah Suparta,” explained Sudiana.
Based on Senate Regulation Number 2 of 2022 concerning Rector Elections and Senate Regulation Number 3 of 2022 concerning Technical Instructions for Rector Selection, the minimum number of Rector candidates who can proceed to the next Rector election stage is four people. For this reason, through the Undiksha Senate meeting, it was decided to extend the time for registration of prospective Rector candidates from November 3, 2022, to November 9, 2022, with times according to working time. Another decision is that prospective candidate who fails can return to follow the registration. “At the Senate meeting it was also decided that three potential candidates who met the requirements had been determined. Those who did not meet the requirements were declared disqualified,” concluded Sudiana. (hms)
