Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) encourages students to engage in entrepreneurship. In addition to answering Higher Education Key Performance Indicators (IKU), entrepreneurship skills are also important as a provision to face the increasingly fierce competition in the world of work. This was conveyed by the Deputy Chancellor for Student Affairs, Public Relations, and Undiksha Alumni, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd., when opening the Soft Launching of the Entrepreneurship Exhibition held by the Business and Entrepreneurship Cluster of the Faculty of Education, Tuesday (28/06/2022).
The Deputy Chancellor who once served as Director of the Undiksha Postgraduate Program emphasized that Undiksha really supports students to enter the business world. Support has been demonstrated by funding, coaching, and mentoring. In addition, Undiksha through the Technical Implementation Unit for Student Career Development and Entrepreneurship (UPT PKKM) is intensively conducting socialization. “Student success in entrepreneurship can increase the achievement of Higher Education Key Performance Indicators (IKU). So for students who want to become startups, we from student organizations are ready to support them, especially in terms of funding,” he said.
He explained that in the field of entrepreneurship, students do not just make products that are common in the market. More than that, they must also be able to read market opportunities, be able to innovate and have creativity. “Entrepreneurship is also aimed at helping the community. Can provide an innovation,” he said.
In particular, he gave his appreciation for the exhibition held by FIP. This space is considered to be able to foster the entrepreneurial spirit of students which is important for increasing self-competence, complementing the academic competencies obtained through college. This exhibition presents a number of products, ranging from food and beverages to crafts. (hms)
