Apart from visiting Tadulako University, volunteers from Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha), Wednesday (11/14/2018) also handed over aid to earthquake and liquefaction victims in the Sigi Regency area, Central Sulawesi. The assistance is in the form of bags and stationery to support the education of hundreds of children.
The handover, which targeted refugees in North Sibalaya Village, was witnessed directly by residents and community leaders. In the midst of a rainy situation, the feeling of kinship was very palpable. One of the refugees, Marni, said that the natural disaster had caused her to lose her possessions. “Broken house. “Now we just live in refugee camps,” he said. In the midst of these conditions, this woman with four children admitted that she had received help. This is very grateful. “Thank God someone helped. “So the burden can be lightened,” he said. He hopes the situation will improve soon. The desire to return to having a place to live can soon come true. Assistance in the form of two water tanks was also provided to refugees in Pombewe Village, Palu. It is used to support bathing, washing, and toilet activities.
Apart from the refugee camps, on Thursday (15/11/2018), Undiksha volunteers also saw Petobo Village, Palu City which was experiencing liquefaction. At that location, many buildings disappeared, buried by shifting soil. Then continued with the handing over of aid in the form of money to Parisadha Hindu Dharma Indonesia (PHDI) Central Sulawesi at Wana Kerta Jagat Natha Temple. It is hoped that the money collected from the Undiksha academic community can be used to support temple repairs. (hms)
