Singaraja- Feelings of insecurity (insecurity) must have been experienced by everyone. That feeling can trigger negative things to happen to yourself, such as stress. Of course, no one wants that to happen. Desired life can grow positively. This is the concern of the Department of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Languages and Arts, University of Education, Ganesha (FBS-Undiksha). The department, which consists of three study programs, provides a space to share tips on anticipating prolonged insecurity through a national webinar entitled“self-love”, Sunday (17/10/2021)
This webinar with hundreds of participants presented two speakers, namely Jero Jemiwi who was a life coach and mentor, and Ni Putu Ayu Niya Loviyani who is the 2020 Bali Province Indonesian Youth Ambassador as well as a student in the Department of Foreign Languages. This activity was opened by the Dean of FBS Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Made Sutama, M.Pd. He said that as a human being, it is not uncommon to be faced with a sense of insecurity. Sometimes the cause of this is not known, and the solution is also unknown. To get out of that circle, it really needs to be supported with positive thoughts that are supported by self-love. “How to make us feel safe again, of course, will be obtained through this webinar,” he said.
This academic from Ubud, Gianyar Regency appreciated the willingness of the resource persons to share tips or knowledge with the participants, some of whom are students, who are quite vulnerable to feeling insecure in life. “We hope that this webinar can provide benefits for the participants,” he added.
The presentation of the material was started by Jero Jemiwi. This woman who once struggled as a flight attendant said that the presence of a problem can trigger a person’s sense of insecurity. The problem can come from various aspects, such as the family environment, association, and so on. As explained, there are at least five areas in life that cause the emergence of self-insecurity. First, the physical area, that is, someone sometimes feels that they have a physical body that is not as perfect as other people. Second, emotional problems, that is, someone feels angry about various things. Third, financial, namely the existence of economic difficulties. Fourth, bad relationships with close people. And fifth, the heart feels empty which creates an atmosphere of life that feels empty and meaningless. He asked someone to get up and be able to get out of that area. “We have to love ourselves. What we can do, is increase the volume of love. For glass, if it contains coffee, which is considered to represent negative emotions, for that we have to clean it. Must be rubbed. After cleaning, then it can be filled with water again in the form of love and trust,” he asked. “We have to give it to ourselves to think positively and think for secure and always do self-improvement and self-transformation,” he added.
Not much different from the tips shared by resource person Niya Loviyani. There needs to be a change in thinking to get out of insecurity, namely understanding oneself, accepting what is, and being grateful for what is. Also, don’t forget to always thank yourself and have a commitment to be a better person.
There are interesting things in this webinar. The best participant has the chance to get five vouchers for self-love from sources. In addition, in the final session, participants were also invited to practice techniques of self-love. (hms)
