Delegates from the Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) participated in the First World Chinese Language Conference, held at the China National Convention Center in Beijing from 7 to 9 December 2023. The conference, which carried the theme “Chinese for the World, Openness into the Future,” gathered educators and experts from around the world to discuss the role of Chinese language education in shaping the future.
Undiksha Delegation, Deputy Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I, Director of the Indonesian Balingkang Confucius Institute Undiksha, Putu Ayu Prabawati Sudana, S.Pd., M.Hum, and Director of the Chinese Balingkang Confucius Institute Undiksha, Zhu Minxia.
The delegation’s participation in this conference was carried out at the invitation of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China which shows the strong relationship between Undiksha and Chinese educational institutions. This conference is a platform for the Balingkang Confucius Institute to form and strengthen a collaborative network with a focus on academic and cultural exchanges.
During the conference, the Undiksha delegation engaged in discussions with educators and representatives from various Confucius Institutes around the world. This event facilitates the exchange of ideas and best practices, providing insight into effective Confucius Institute Programs. It is hoped that this knowledge exchange can enrich Undiksha’s academic and cultural initiatives and further strengthen collaboration between the Balingkang Confucius Institute and similar institutions.
The first World Chinese Language Conference provided a valuable opportunity for Undiksha to demonstrate its commitment to advancing international cooperation in the field of Chinese language education. The delegation returned to Indonesia with new insights and relationships that will contribute to the continued success of Undiksha’s initiatives in promoting the Chinese language and culture. (rls)
