Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) continues to work on increasing the number of professors or professors. For this, the Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., encouraged lecturers who met the requirements to submit proposals immediately. This was emphasized when giving directions, Wednesday (7/9/2022).
He was accompanied by the Deputy Chancellor for General Administration, Planning, Finance, and Resources, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd., who said that Undiksha wanted to be better and more competitive in the future. In addition, it can also create and produce graduates who are qualified, competent, and have good skills and character. To realize this, the role of lecturers in improving their academic quality and increasing their positions from head lecturer to professor is very important. “The position of professor will make a more positive contribution. What I want to emphasize is that the lecturers who are already doctoral students are excited to move up to the position of head lecturer or professor,” he said.
Based on the latest data, currently Undiksha only has 47 professors. The target set, in 2025, Undiksha already has 100 professors. Various strategic steps have been prepared and implemented. Not only limited to allocating funding but also strengthening the existence and capacity of the professor acceleration team. “Then form a mentoring team for friends who have research, but still have trouble making articles. We have prepared a way for each lecturer to have independent research. We really want those who meet the requirements to upgrade their academic positions to head professors and professors to immediately propose,” he explained.
The Chancellor, who is known for his humility, added that professorships are not only for personal gain. More than that, it is also the obligation of every lecturer to build their university and it is very important for achieving Simkatmawa, Key Performance Indicators (IKU), as well as in ranking other universities. “Therefore, I invite all lecturers to continue to improve their quality so that Undiksha gets better,” he asked.
