Singaraja- Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) once again holding Community Service Programme (KKN) in 2022. This time, students went straight to the villages. This is different from 2020 and 2021, which took place online as a result of the high number of Covid-19 cases.
Undiksha held a regular KKN, which was attended by 947 students. A total of 27 participated in the Past Learning Recognition (RPL) programme and credit transfer. In addition, this campus which has a long history, also participated in the National Community Service Programme, which was attended by five students, according to the quota obtained.
In its implementation, the participants were given a special briefing, as was the case for the National Community Service Program participants, Tuesday (6/14/2022). Head of the Institute for Research and Community Service, Dr. I Ketut Sudiana, M.Kes., explained that Undiksha’s participation in KKN was the fourth time. This year, students will take part in activities for a full month, from July-August 2022, in Palangka Raya, Kalimantan. They joined students from other universities with the vision of strengthening the unity of the Indonesian nation, unifying diversity, and generating regional potential. “Through the presence of Nationality KKN students, we want Undiksha to participate in building the nation. In general, the National Community Service Program is associated with regional conditions. For example, how is peat soil used for food commodities at the KKN location, “he explained.
More broadly, said Sudiana, the National Community Service Program aims to prepare future leaders of the nation because for 2022, judging by the momentum, it is very strategic if it is associated with 100 years of Indonesian independence in 2045. “This time, in 2045, it will be a mature generation who will later occupy a strategic position and become a leader,” he said.
Luh Putu Rani and Canndro Saragi admitted that they were interested in participating in the National Community Service Program to see the diversity of Indonesia and to foster an attitude of nationalism. This moment is also used to introduce Undiksha further.
Meanwhile, for the Regular KKN, it is also held in July-August 2022. This time, students are deployed in Tabanan Regency, which is spread over 57 villages. Meanwhile, those who take part in the RPL and credit transfer programs who are already working, according to the policy, are given to carry out KKN independently at their place of work or take a location not far from their place of work.
The presence of students in the village is expected to be able to become agents of change, which can provide solutions to problems that entangle the village and the community. There are five programme themes that students can choose to implement, namely disaster risk reduction, implementation of appropriate science and technology/technology in sustainable management of Human Resources and the environment, development and improvement of human resources, resource-based waste management, and strengthening public health post-Covid-19.
