Singaraja– Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM), which was launched by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) in 2020, provides opportunities for students to be able to improve competencies outside of their study program for 3 semesters. Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) welcomed the program. Invitations to students continue to be encouraged, including new students for the 2022/2023 academic year.
This was conveyed by Undiksha Vice Chancellor for Academic and Cooperation Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I., as a guest speaker during the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) Undiksha, Tuesday (16/8/2022).
He emphasized that independent learning in this case does not mean that students are free to learn anything, but that students can learn something they really want to learn in order to improve the main competencies obtained at their home university. In this case, Undiksha as one of the tertiary institutions, has the role of being a bridge for students to be able to lead to the gates of success, both by increasing the competencies of students and building soft skills so they are able to face various challenges in the future. “The philosophy of being a bridge is that Undiksha must really lead students to the gates of success,” he said.
In addition to the MBKM program, on this occasion, various academic programs designed by Undiksha were also presented. Among them is an international program that aims to provide international experience to students through several programs that have been running, namely, the Fast Track Program which has collaborated with a number of universities abroad. Apart from that, Undiksha also has a double degree program for students.
Delivered further, in September 2022, Undiksha will hold a French language course to prepare students to master foreign languages and provide opportunities to take several programs outside, student exchange, and so on. It is hoped that in the future, the program that has been designed can be carried out well and Undiksha can become an International Environment. “Hopefully we can do this well. We also want to bring the International Environment to this university through the various activities we have,” he explained. (hms)
