Singaraja- A number of lecturers at the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) were awarded by the Chancellor, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., Thursday (19/9/2019). This is because the article is able to be published in an accredited journal, Sinta. This achievement was appreciated because it was able to support university rankings, at both national and international levels.
The Chancellor of Jampel explained that the publication of the journal had been initiated in 2016 which was accompanied by the establishment of a development team. This policy yielded positive results. In 2019, it was recorded that there were 22 journals that entered Sinta’s accreditation. This places Undiksha in seventh position out of 12 Education Personnel Education Institutions (LPTK) in Indonesia. However, beyond this number, there are already 50 journals that are in the process of being certified. “We hope that this month a certificate of Sinta will be issued. So Undiksha has 72 journals,” he explained.
This year, it is targeted that one hundred journals will be included in Sinta. If this can be fulfilled, Undiksha’s ranking on a national scale, especially for the LPTK scope can continue to rise. Therefore, it is hoped that there will be support from all lecturers. “If this can be realized, Undiksha will be able to enter the second place. This needs support from all lecturers,” he said.
This achievement will also make Undiksha more quickly known. Both at the national and international level. “If we already have 72 journals accredited by Sinta, we will look for lecturers from other universities, this will automatically search for Undiksha, and understand Undiksha. Even though it is located in a suburban area, it is no longer underestimated,” said the Chancellor from Nusa Dua, Badung Regency.
He asked the lecturers not to be satisfied with this achievement. But still make efforts so that later they can produce articles at a higher grade, including in international reputable journals or Scopus. “Every year I want something to be published on Scopus,” he said, adding that the award which was also addressed to the Dean and Coordinator of the Study Program was a form of effort to generate motivation. “Of course what the lecturers did, we appreciate,” he added.
Head of the Undiksha Journal Development Center, Dr. I Wayan Widiana, S.Pd., M.Pd., explained that the journal consists of various fields, ranging from education, science, economics, and social sciences. He, who also won four awards from the Chancellor, emphasized that he would continue to make efforts to increase the number of journals so that Undiksha would be more competitive. “We are trying to reach the targeted number. I appreciate LPPM for providing support,” he concluded. (hms)
