Singaraja- Accelerating the appointment of Head Lecturers and Professor lecturers is one of the targets of the Ganesha University of Education. This is one of the strategies to respond to performance contracts with ministries. Functional officials, I Made Karunia, S.T., and M.Kom, welcomed this target. He is an Associate Staff Analyst Officer who is participating in the National Leadership Training II in 2022. This employee from Karangasem Regency provides support to the university by initiating a change project entitled “Strategy to Accelerate Head Lectors and Professors through Integrated Policies at Ganesha University of Education”.
In a coordination meeting with Undiksha leadership online, Monday (13/6/2022), Karunia explained that this change project was one of the indicators required in the training. The emergence of this idea departed from the results of his analysis of conditions in the field. Undiksha currently has quite a number of lecturers with doctoral qualifications and in terms of length of service, many have met the requirements to apply for promotion to Professor. “However, I see that of the many lecturers who have met the terms of service to be promoted to Professor, not all of them have proposed a promotion. One of them is due to the lack of information on credit scores that have been achieved,” he explained.
This change project tries to bridge and provide solutions to this reality by providing information on the credit scores that have been achieved by the lecturers. This information will be generated by the system which will retrieve supporting data from existing data in the institution’s repository. The information provided is in the form of a List of Proposed Credit Scores (DUPAK). “Through the DUPAK, the lecturers will know the achievement of credit scores from all fields, so that information on their eligibility for promotions/ranks can be known,” said Karunia. Apart from that, this change project also made several standard operating procedures to support the acceleration of promotions.
This project consists of three stages of implementation, namely short-term, medium-term, and long-term. The short-term phases are carried out over a period of 2 months (23 May – 23 July 2022), the medium-term stages are carried out over a period from 1 August to 31 December 2022, and the long-term phases are carried out over a period of 3 years starting from 1 January 2023 until December 31, 2025. “Each stage has a targeted output,” he added.
This idea received a positive response from the Head of the Undiksha General Affairs and Finance Bureau, Ni Luh Wayan Yasmiati, S.H., M.Pd. She who represents the Deputy Chancellor for Public Administration, Planning, Finance, and Resources, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd., assessed that a breakthrough really needs to be done in order to support the acceleration of program implementation or achieving higher education targets. “Undiksha is targeting 2024 to have one hundred professors. Of course, it’s great to have an idea like this,” she said. He hopes that this idea can be supported by an in-depth study and a clear description of the technical implementation. (hms)
