Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) 2023 has taken strategic steps to increase competitiveness and to accelerate the realization of the vision of “Becoming a Superior University in Asia by 2045 Based on the Tri Hita Karana Philosophy”. These strategies include increasing the number of study program accreditations, strengthening cooperation, and preparing to transform into a Legal Entity State University. In 2023, Undiksha succeeded in winning several awards and achievements in the field of student affairs.
Study Program Accreditation
Institutionally, Undiksha has 8 Faculties and Postgraduate Programs, with a total of 16,921 active students including PPG, who come from 32 Provinces in Indonesia. Undiksha’s accreditation is A. Of the 78 existing study programs, 33 study programs (42%) are accredited as Excellent, 18 study programs (23%) are internationally accredited, and the remaining 27 (35%) study programs are accredited as good. Of the 611 existing lecturers, 362 (59.2%) have Doctoral/Specialist degrees, 83 (13.58%) have Professors, and the rest are still Masters. By 2030, all Undiksha lecturers are expected to have doctoral degrees.
Diktiristek Award 2023, Undiksha Wins 11 Awards
Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) won 11 awards at the 2023 Diktiristek Anugerah event.
The awards consisted of 3 golds, 4 silvers, and 4 bronzes which were obtained from various fields, namely cooperation, institutional fields, research, technology and community service, as well as public relations. Undiksha’s success in achieving brilliant achievements in tight competition with other universities shows that the governance of these various fields has been going well.
At this annual event, Undiksha was one of the universities that won the most awards and increased from the previous year. This achievement cannot be separated from various improvement efforts made by Undiksha. This achievement is a matter of pride and is the result of the hard work and intelligent work of the academic community framed in peaceful harmony.
36th PIMNAS, Undiksha Ranked 12th Nationally
Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) competed in the 36th National Student Science Week (Pimnas) which took place at Padjadjaran University, Bandung in 2023. This prestigious student competition was attended by 106 universities. They successfully passed the selection of 5,102 PKM proposals. This year, there were 2,411 participants with 475 accompanying lecturers and 117 officials.
PIMNAS is an event organized by the Indonesian Talent Development Center (BPTI), National Achievement Center, and Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology in the field of reasoning to compete in national-level student scientific work. This event is to create a competitive academic climate among Indonesian students. Apart from that, it is also the peak of national-scale student scientific activities and is held at universities designated by BPTI. PIMNAS is a forum for scientific meetings and communication of student creative products, attended by students or Student Creativity Program (PKM) team groups.
Five Undiksha teams successfully passed the presentation stage. The entire team is Community Service PKM. In this competition, Undiksha managed to be ranked 12th nationally by winning one silver medal and one team won the favorite winner in the presentation category. This ranking is among the largest universities in Indonesia.
Cooperation
As a concrete step in accelerating Undiksha towards becoming an internationally reputable University in Education and Leadership, in 2023 through collaboration with several foreign partners, Undiksha received grants: Collaboration with Sogang University Korea in the context of improving Science Education in Indonesia, Collaboration with Xinyang Normal University, Undiksha succeeded in establishing the Balingkang Confucius Institute, obtaining funding from the China International Education Foundation (CIEF).
Since 2019, through the Internationalization at Home program, Undiksha has tried to become a learning home for the entire international community, both through degree and non-degree programs. Apart from accepting international students, we also try to send Undiksha students abroad, such as carrying out overseas PPL activities, internships, and student exchanges both offline and online. One of Undiksha’s premium (main) programs is the Fast-Track Program (3 years at Undiksha taking a bachelor’s + 2 years at MCUT taking a master’s) in collaboration with Ming Chi University of Technology, Taiwan. Starting from 2021 to 2023, we have sent around 27 students. Some have completed their studies, and some immediately continue their studies to doctoral level.
This achievement cannot be separated from various improvement efforts made by Undiksha which is now led by the Chancellor, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd. The Chancellor, who served as Deputy Chancellor for Planning, Finance, and Resources at Undiksha for two terms, said that this achievement was a source of pride and was the result of the hard work and smart work of the academic community framed in peaceful harmony. “Achievements cannot be achieved by one person. “This requires togetherness and mutual support,” he stressed.
It was also emphasized that this achievement was one of the capital to usher in Undiksha as a PTN-BH. Therefore, it is not only enough to be welcomed with a sense of pride, but it is very important to be used as motivation to improve the quality of work.
