Singaraja- Throughout 2019, Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) has rolled out a number of programs, both in the academic field, increasing resources and financial management and student affairs.
One year running, the program that was announced made a proud result. Like the accreditation of institutions that are capable of stepping into excellence (A). This achievement was also followed by a number of study programs. Other academic programs, such as overseas PKL and PPL have also shown positive results. The number of participants has increased from the previous year. The resource sector also shows a positive trend. It also occurs in scientific journal publications.
In terms of human resources, the educational qualifications of lecturers have increased, including for professorships. In terms of infrastructure, a number of buildings were successfully constructed. Service systems are also increasingly based online, such as staffing, office administration, and finance. In the student affairs sector, it was recorded that the number of students who made achievements reached 138 people, higher than the target set of 65 students. This achievement is not limited to the national level, but also international. For example, a medical student who won third place in Singapore thanks to his idea of processing banana peels into medicine for skin diseases and students who won prizes at a woodball competition in South Korea.
Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd, Tuesday (31/12/2019) explained that this achievement was inseparable from the support of the entire academic community. He also emphasized that institutional development towards a better direction is a commitment and this is also a work contract with the ministry. “Of course to achieve this, there are a number of efforts made. Starting from the budget and preparedness of resources,” he explained.
Behind this achievement, it is undeniable that quality improvement still needs to be done, to realize the university’s vision of becoming a superior university based on the philosophy of Tri Hita Karana in Asia in 2045. The Chancellor of Jampel and his staff have mapped out the challenges of future development. At least focused on five things, namely (1) the ability to elaborate and optimize technology in accordance with the breath of revolution 4.0, (2) alignment of various academic policies so that they refer to institutional clustering towards excellent universities, (3) restructuring by aligning the Tri Dharma paradigm of Higher Education to be in line with the demands of the times, (4) curriculum reorientation, digitizing learning and strengthening blended learning online to produce superior and competitive human resources (HR), and (5) the ability of each PT to downstream technology products by strengthening the management of Dharma research and service for the general public. “Undiksha must answer this challenge by reorienting the preparation of programs and activities that are aligned with the budget allocation we have,” he said.
This challenge was used as a trigger for multipurpose innovation by Undiksha as currently billed by society. The planning and implementation of various programs of higher education activities are adjusted and adapted to the needs of the world of work, namely following market needs and in line with the wishes of the investors of life. The research conducted is also encouraged to be able to produce appropriate technology products accompanied by compatible scientific publications in order to be able to boost the downstream program and achieve a world-class university.
The various efforts that have been rolled out are not only limited to accelerating the realization of Undiksha’s vision as a superior university based on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy in Asia in 2045. But also making Undiksha a reputable international university and trendsetter university for 2019-2023 positions, in accordance with the rector’s vision. Realizing these programs, the support of the academic community cannot be separated, by being able and able to improve which is based on one single objective dimension, namely Undiksha’s excellence in the perspective of academic and non-academic achievements, towards Excellent Undiksha based on the philosophy of Tri Hita Karana. “Revamping must begin with reconstructing and innovating approaches to developing programs both at the university and post-faculties and other units,” he concluded.
