Singaraja- Village-Owned Enterprise (BUM Desa) plays a strategic role in the development of villages and the strengthening of village economies. However, these enterprises still face several challenges. One significant issue is the weakness in business plan proposal management. Recognizing this, Undiksha academics have taken the initiative to get involved in strengthening BUM Desa through the Community Service Program (PKM).
The service program, led by Dr. Putu Sukma Kurniawan and his team, involved working directly with BUM Desa management to share knowledge and expertise. This program, which took place on Friday, September 6, 2024, targeted BUM Desa management in the Kubutambahan District, Buleleng Regency, including Bengkala, Bila, and Tamblang Villages. The aim was to address the management challenges faced by these enterprises.
As part of this service activity, training was provided on how to develop business plan proposals using a business canvas model. BUM Desa management was trained to identify key considerations when developing new business lines. Additionally, this activity also included mentoring to assist with the creation of business proposals.
The leader of the team, Sukma Kurniawan, emphasized that this program reflects the commitment of academics to advancing the economics sector, especially through the strengthening of BUM Desa. “We hope this activity will assist the management in drafting proposals for inclusion from village governments to BUM Desa,” he explained.
The Head of Bengkala Village, I Made Astika, expressed his support for the program, noting that it would provide BUM Desa management with guidance in preparing business proposals. He also highlighted that the initiative could help strengthen the communication between BUM Desa management and the Village government. Representatives from the BUM Desa management also attended the event and supported the program and expressed hopes that it would continue with ongoing monitoring.
