Belantih Village, located in Kintamani, is poised for a bright future as the central hub of the coffee industry. This vision is being realized by digital management development led by Undiksha academician, I Wayan Pardi, S.Pd., M.Pd. This activity involving the Dharma Krya Farmers Group and Belantih Coffee Farm was held in Lunjangan and aimed to enhance the quality and competitiveness of Kintamani Arabica Coffee Products.
Pardi emphasized that his presence in Belantih Village is part of Undiksha’s commitment to supporting regional and village development. He expressed optimism that this Community Service (PkM) initiative would significantly contribute to the progress of both of the partner organizations. “We believe that with digital transformation, the added value of our coffee will increase, enabling it to reach a bigger market,” he said.
This perspective was shared by the Head of Belantih Village, represented by Tangguan Hamlet, I Nyoman Dana, who reiterated their dedication to supporting the coffee industry’s growth, not only as an income source for the community but also as a source of village pride.
This community service activity featured insightful material beneficial to coffee farmers delivered by I Made Sukadana, SP., MP., from the Bali Center for the Application of Agricultural Instrument Standards (BSIP). He provided comprehensive guidance on best practices for coffee cultivation technique and post-harvest processing and production of certified Arabica coffee seeds.
Another speaker, I Wayan Sunanjaya SP., MP., emphasized the importance of preserving Arabica Coffee Farm in Kintamani as a defining feature of the village’s identity. His presentation covered various aspects, including coffee consumption trends, different types of coffee that are cultivated in Indonesia, namely Arabica, Robusta, and Liberica Coffee. And also explained the scale of coffee plantations in the country alongside production levels such as, superior clone, pruning system, shade management, pest and disease (OPT), and irrigation control.
The material presented by both speakers was highly engaging and provided new insights for Dharma Krya Farmers Group and Belantih Coffee Farm. This socialization activity represents an important first step in efforts to develop the coffee industry in Belantih Village. It is anticipated that it will be followed by more concrete actions, including ongoing training, business mentoring, and the development of coffee derivative products. With thecollaborative spirit and support of various stakeholders, Belantih Village has the potential to become one of Indonesia’s leading coffee producing villages.
