Badung- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) has implemented Professional Teacher Education (PPG) in 2023. In this program, thousands of students have taken the PPG Student Competency Test (UKM) with a pass rate of 98.78 percent. This was revealed in an anticipatory evaluation and reflection coordination meeting which took place in Kuta, Badung, Friday (19/1/2024).
UKMPPG in 2023 was attended by 2,046 students divided into In-Service PPG and Pre-Service PPG. Of this number, 2,021 successfully passed, or 98.78 percent. PPG Undiksha Coordinator, Drs. I Gede Nurjaya, M.Pd said that considering the large number of participants, the UKM PPG graduation rate was considered very high. According to him, this achievement is the result of the hard work and seriousness of the participants in participating in the PPG program. Apart from that, it is also because of the educational services provided by teaching lecturers and tutors.
Even though the graduation achievement is very positive, Undiksha continues to carry out evaluations in order to improve the implementation of PPG in the future. Evaluation is not only on technical aspects but also on service to participants, both by the committee, class admin, teaching lecturers, tutors, and specifically the technical obstacles experienced by participants. “We are always committed to how PPG can get better, so it is important to carry out evaluations and use them as anticipatory reflection,” said Nurjaya.
Undiksha Deputy Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I expressed his appreciation for the performance of PPG management throughout 2023 which was considered to have gone well. He emphasized that the PPG program is one of the additional tasks received from the ministry so it needs to continue to be carried out well and the management continues to carry out the main tasks they have, both as lecturers and education staff. According to him, there are three important components in PPG. First is the lecturer, second is the tutor, third is the class admin. Identification of obstacles to these three components needs to be carried out routinely so that solutions can then be found.
At PPG, there are three materials given to students, namely deepening the material, developing learning tools, and Introduction to the School Field (PLP). Prof. Rasben Dantes hopes that implementation in the future will be even better.
At this coordination meeting, preparations for the implementation of PPG in 2024 were also discussed, both for Pre-Service PPG and UKM PPG with a number of participants of thousands of people.
