Students from the Department of Fisheries and Maritime Affairs, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) not only succeeded in winning achievements at the national level competition. This January, another proud gift was successfully presented. Putu Pramana Anindhita and Komang Krisna Bayu, sixth-semester students passed to take part in Field Work Practices (PKL) abroad, at Pangasinan State University, Philippines.
The two students from the D-III Marine Cultivation study program will depart on January 25. Release by the Dean of FMIPA, Prof. Dr. I Nengah Suparta, M.Si, took place, on Wednesday (23/1/2019). This program is the second time that students from the faculty whose building is located east of the Undiksha ceremony field have successfully participated in it. It is hoped that next year there will be more participation, including from students from other majors. “We hope that through this program, students can improve their abilities and broaden their horizons,” said Suparta accompanied by the Fisheries and Maritime Affairs Minister, Dr. Gede Ari Yudasmara, M.Sc.
In 2018, there were also two students who qualified for Ubon University, Thailand. This program is one of Undiksha’s flagship programs. Chairman of LPPPM Undiksha, Prof. Dr. A.A.I.N Marhaeni, M.A. said this is one of the strategies to increase the competitiveness of graduates, including supporting the internationalization of universities. “Through this, students will not only be involved in the academic world. But you can also get to know the culture of other countries. “This is to increase insight,” she said. In the January-February period, the university, which had just celebrated its 26th anniversary, sent out a total of 33 students from various study programs. Apart from the Philippines, it is also targeting universities in Thailand and Vietnam. Departures will be made again in the July-August period. “We are targeting this year to have at least 60 students leaving,” added Marhaeni. (hms)
