Singaraja- Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) collaborates with many universities in strengthening and improving the quality of the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. One of the collaborations is with Universitas Abdurachman Saleh Situbondo, East Java. The signing occurred in the Ganesha Room III Rectorate Undiksha on Monday (30/1/2023).
The signing of the cooperation was carried out by Undiksha Rector, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., and Rector Universitas Abdurachman Saleh Situbondo, Dr. Drs. Ec. Karnadi, M.Si. The Vice Rector, Head of the Bureau, and Cooperation division witnessed the event. On this occasion, the two universities gave each other an overview of institutional governance related to the Tri Dharma of Higher Education and specifically the implementation of the Freedom to Learn Independent Campus or Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) policy.
Undiksha Rector, Prof. Jampel, appreciated the establishment of this collaboration. According to him, in this era of globalization, changes occur so quickly, and universities cannot run alone. So, there must collaborate and synergize with other universities, the business world, and the industrial world. “Incidentally Undiksha and Universitas Abdurachman Saleh Sitobondo have an agreement to establish cooperation. Of course the goal is that with this togetherness we can overcome the problems that will come,” he said.
Through this collaboration, it is expected to jointly strengthen the implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. In addition, it also together improves students’ critical thinking, increases creativity, and builds collaboration. “Without collaboration, we will be left behind and run over by the times. In addition, there must be communication, compassion, and computational thinking,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Rector of Universitas Abdurachman Saleh Situbondo, Dr. Karnadi, said that he saw Undiksha’s extraordinary development. He also said that his desire to establish cooperation in implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education had been there for a long time. “It was a long time ago but coincidentally there was my lecturer for an open exam, so I invited the group to come but not all so only the Rector, Vice Rector, and Foundation Trustees,” he explained.
Undiksha and Universitas Abdurachman Saleh Situbondo understand the vision towards realizing superior graduates with good interpersonal skills or character. Therefore, this collaboration is considered very appropriate and very important to be followed up with a real program. This collaboration is expected to contribute to the improvement of each university. (hms)
