Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) launched internationalization at home in 2019. This policy continues to be strengthened, one of which is by forming a special team. It is hoped that this new team can produce strategies and programs that can be successful. “With this team, we hope that the program can get better,” said Undiksha Deputy Chancellor I, Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Putu Arnyana, M.Sc., when giving directions in the Ganesha II Room of the Rectorate, Monday (29/4/2019).
The former Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences said that in internationalization at home, there must be foreign students studying at Undiksha, at least one percent of the total number of students. Are you taking full courses, learning credits, PKL or PPL or specifically taking certain courses? “This is what we hope the team can think about,” he said.
What is needed is not limited to that. Undiksha needs to continue to improve quality. No less important is having an international standard study program. According to him, what makes this possible is the Medical Education Study Program because it specializes in tourism, and the Physical Education, Health and Recreation Study Program because many of its lecturers are tutors abroad regarding sports. “For tourism, it is also possible. “Mathematics is the same because it is accredited A and many of the lecturers are foreign graduates,” he explained.
He further stated that having students from abroad is very important to increase the grade of the institution, maintain the A accreditation which was achieved on February 21, 2018, and accelerate the realization of Undiksha’s vision as a superior university based on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy in Asia in 2045. “Re-accreditation is indeed only just. “But we must continue to prepare ourselves and try to maintain it from now on,” he added.
Deputy Chancellor III Undiksha, Dr. I Gusti Ngurah Pujawan, M.Kes said that the policy that had been announced must continue to be campaigned. In fact, there needs to be massive socialization, both through websites and directly to universities. “Like Indonesian, there are many people interested in studying it from abroad. “This could be an opportunity to implement it at Undiksha,” he said. Another thing was emphasized by Deputy Chancellor II, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd. To make this program a success, there needs to be commitment and support from the entire academic community. So far, Undiksha has made efforts to improve the quality of infrastructure to international standards. Apart from that, services have also been based on information technology. (hms)
