Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) continues to encourage young lecturers to improve their educational qualifications to the doctoral level. This is one of the strategies to increase the competitiveness of institutions and improve the quality of human resources. Stimulating this, a Sharing Doctoral program was held at the General Seminar Building (GSU) Undiksha, Tuesday (11/12/2019).
Head of the Undiksha Learning Development and Quality Assurance Institute (LPPPM), Prof. Dr. AAIN. Marhaeni, M.A., who opened the activity, said that improving self-quality was the obligation of all lecturers, including those who had just passed CPNS. “Increasing educational qualifications is one way to do that. The Chancellor encourages this, especially those who pass CPNS, must be able to continue to the S-3 level,” she said.
This academic from Klungkung said that to continue to the doctoral level, preparations could be made from an early age. A way to get one of them can be through a scholarship. “This can be prepared from the start. It has to be determined where to proceed,” she said. Through this activity, it is hoped that there will be an increase in young lecturers’ understanding of the importance of educational qualifications. “With the S-3, you will also be able to go up to Associate Professor. If you are still in the Master’s degree, you will still be in Lector. So this educational qualification is important for career advancement as well, in addition to increasing insight related to scientific disciplines,” she said. Overseeing these activities, Prof. Marhaeni who is a doctoral graduate of Jakarta State University in 2005 also gave material on Assessment in the 21st Century Learning.
Chairman of the Committee Dr. I Putu Mas Dewantara, S.Pd., M.Pd., said this activity was also a medium for various research results from doctors at Undiksha as well as spreading an academic aura and inspiring lecturers to continue their education. “The end result is that this lecturer can continue his studies. We want to spark it through this activity,” he said. This activity was presented by Dr. I Wayan Suja, M.Sc., who presented material on a Scientific Approach to 21st Century Learning.
