The Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Menristekdikti), Mohamad Nasir, reviewed the implementation of SBMPTN examination at Ganesha University of Education. In that occasion, Nasir handed the sealed exam over from the central committee to the local committee. The exam handover was accepted by Rector of UNDIKSHA, Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M. Pd., in Economic Faculty of Undiksha, on Tuesday (8/5).
Menristekdikti stated that 860,001 participants took the examination. There were 833,820 participants took paper-based test (UTBC: Ujian Tulis Berbasis Cetak) and 26,181 participants took computer-based test (UTBK: Ujian Tulis Berbasis Komputer). The test was also taken by 1078 C package-participants, 365 disability participants (involved 122 deaf participants, 107 blind participants, 43 mute participants, and 93 disabled participants), and the Indonesian laborers who were working overseas. Discrimination towards C package and disability participants was underlined by Nasir to all state university Rectors.
“Higher education should show fairness to all participants, no discrimination, and offer supporting facilities to disability participants if they pass.” explained Nasir during a press conference after reviewing the implementation of SBMPTN exam in Undiksha, Singaraja Bali (8/5).
In the same occasion, the committee chairman, Ravik Karsidi, reported that the examination was grouped into science and technology test, social and humanities test, and mixed test. The examination result would be announced on July 3, 2018.
Ravik added that the higher education for disability participants has been regulated in Permenristekdikti No. 46/2017 about Special Education and Special Service Education in Universities. This regulation supported them the registration to university. Both state and private universities recently have all supporting facilities for disability students.
In the meantime, Rector of Undiksha, Dr. I Nyoman Jampel M.Pd., stated Undiksha’s readiness in accepting and facilitating them to graduate. Although currently Undiksha does not have such students yet, Undiksha would provide them special facilities as the mandate of the existing regulations if there will be ones passing the test this year.
In the visit, the Minister of Research, Technology, and Higher Education also reviewed the re-registration process of participants who passed the National Selection of State University (SNMPTN: Seleksi Nasional Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri) in Undiksha, which was held simultaneously at the same time as paper-based test.
