The Indonesian government continues to be committed to focusing on improving human resource development through various smart efforts. The government will implement a program of providing educational assistance to students, namely KIP College (Indonesian Smart College Card), starting in 2020. KIP College is tuition assistance from the government for high school graduates or equivalent who have academic potential, but experience economic limitations at the tertiary level. Based on the explanation from the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud), there are two types of KIP Lectures. The first is KIP Lectures for recipients from the general public. Meanwhile the second is KIP Affirmation Lectures. This second type includes support for people with disabilities, participants in the Affirmation of Higher Education (ADik) program for residents in Papua and West Papua, the 3T areas (frontier, outermost, or disadvantaged), as well as areas affected by disasters or conflict.
RegistrationKIP Lectures were conducted for approximately 30 days in March. In addition, prospective students who do not have a KIP can still register for the National Selection to Enter State Universities (SNMPTN). They are advised to continue registering for SNMPTN according to the set schedule, namely from 14 to 27 February 2020. Based on a written statement from the Higher Education Entrance Test Institute (LTMPT), to get a KIP Lecture, prospective students only need to register via the website.https://kip-kuliah.kemdikbud.go.id. They are given time to finalize their SNMPTN and KIP Lecture registrations from the beginning of March to March 31, 2020. This is important to note because registration is only considered valid if the finalization has been carried out. Later LTMPT will synchronize data for prospective students who register for SNMPTN and College KIP.
Lecture KIP Registration Procedure
Stages of KIP Lecture Registration:
- Students can directly register independently on the webKIP Lecture System on the page kip-kuliah.kemdikbud.go.id or via KIP Lecture mobile apps*;
- At the time of registration, the student enterNIK, NISN, NPSN, and email address valid and active;
- The Lecture KIP system will then validate NIK, NISN, and NPSN as well as eligibility to get Lecture KIP**;
- If the validation process is successful, the KIP Lecture System will then send the registration number and access Codeto the registered email address;
- Students complete the KIP Lecture registration process and choose the selection path they will follow (SNMPTN/SBMPTN/SMPN/UMPN/Mandiri);
- Furthermore, students complete the registration process on the portal or national selection information system to enter higher education according to the selected selection path. Before the KIP Lecture Registration System opens, students can first register on the national selection information portal or information system (such as SNMPTN and SNMPN). The synchronization process with the system will be carried out later with a host-to-host scheme.
- For prospective KIP Lecture recipients who have been declared accepted at Tertiary Education Institutions, further verification can be carried out by the Tertiary Education Institution before being proposed as prospective students receiving KIP Lectures.

** NIK is used to obtain socio-economic information in the Social Inequality Integrated Data (DTKS) of the Ministry of Social Affairs. Students who are not/have not registered at DTKS must complete economic and asset data.
KIP Lecture Registration Requirements
The requirements for registering for the 2020 KIP Lecture Program are as follows:
- KIP-COLLEGE recipients are high school students or equivalent who graduated or will graduate in the current year or have been passed a maximum of 2 years earlier, as well as having valid NISN, NPSN, and NIK;
- Owngood academic potential but has economic limitations supported by valid document evidence;
- SMA / SMK / MA or equivalent students who graduate in the current year with good academic potential and have a KIP Card;
- SMA / SMK / MA or equivalent students who graduate in the current year with good academic potential and have a Prosperous Family Card;
- Pass the selection of new student admissions, and be accepted at PTN or PTS in Prodi with Accreditation A or B, and it is possible with certain considerations in Prodi with Accreditation C.
