Pandemic Covid-19 has made teaching and learning activities in Indonesia experience significant changes. Changes in learning media from conventional to online methods make teachers and students experience difficulties. One reason is that the teacher is not able to provide material and explanations but only gives assignments. This happens of course because teachers are not ready to use online methods, both in terms of use and facilities. The Internet network in Indonesia is also inadequate. In addition, there are many complaints from parents who cannot supervise their children studying online, because of conflicts with work.
In the midst of these conditions, the government offered a solution, namely using TV stations as learning media with audio-visual displays. TVRI is the only television station that broadcasts education on a scheduled basis for students amidst the constraints of online learning. It’s just that, the show is not yet accessible to the whole community. Some areas are still constrained by the network. In this situation, the government needs to promote online learning programs so that they can also be broadcast on private television, with the hope that they will be accessible to the public as a whole. Learning via television has many advantages, namely, there is no need for internet access for areas without a network, and it is more economical because television uses electricity which is currently subsidized by the government.
Thus television can be used as a source of learning content for teachers and students. This can ease the burden on teachers who are technology illiterate and cannot make learning videos. As well as making it easier for parents to supervise their children while studying.(Sanchi/S1 Program Accounting Study Program)
