Singaraja- The title of Professor in the field of Education Measurement and Evaluation has been successfully carried out by the Rector of Undiksha, I Nyoman Jampel. He was inaugurated in the Undiksha Senate Open Session at the Campus Auditorium, Thursday (17/10/2019).
The inauguration began with the reading of a Decree from the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti). He held the highest academic position and was disabled since February 1, 2019. The event, which was also witnessed by his family, also included a personal history reading. Jampel is the son of I Wayan Pugir and Ni Made Sender, who was born on October 10, 1959, at Banjar Celuk, Bualu Traditional Village, Badung Regency. In the place where he was born, the economic average of the population was very low. Roads, electricity, as well as PDAM water did not exist at that time. Residents’ houses still have thatched roofs, large walls, and dirt floors. Economic difficulties also entangled his family. In the midst of such conditions, his passion for education never died down. This step has the full support of the family. “From the beginning, I was very supported in pursuing education,” said Jampel when confirmed after the event.
Holding a doctoral degree, even to the point of being a professor, had never occurred to the former Dean of the Undiksha Faculty of Education. Likewise in his position as rector. “I never thought I could get to S-3. Could be a professor. Could be Rector. This is already God’s will. I have been given the way,” he said.
In his scientific oration, he echoed harmony as a philosophy in organizing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education at Undiksha. This comes from the philosophy of Tri Hita Karana. “The essence of Tri Hita Karana is harmony itself. How future leaders can establish harmony with God, Humans, and the natural environment? That is the principle that future leaders must have,” he concluded. (hms)
