Singaraja – Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) held the 63rd Graduation Ceremony, Saturday (28/11/2020). This graduation was held offline and online. This graduation was attended by 450 graduates from the Faculty of Language and Arts, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, Faculty of Education Sciences, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Faculty of Engineering and Vocational Studies, and Postgraduate Program. The graduates consist of 1 graduate from Doctoral program, 124 graduates from Master Program, 307 graduates from Bachelor Program, and 18 graduates from Diploma Program.
Offline ceremony was attended by top graduates only from each study program. The Covid-19 prevention protocol was implemented during the ceremony. Graduates were required wearing masks, washing hands, conducting social and physical distancing, using hand sanitizers and checking body temperature before entering the Auditorium. Then, Undiksha did not allow parents of graduates to be in the auditorium or campus area during the graduation procession in order to anticipate the crowd.
Undiksha Rector, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., invited all graduates to be adaptive to changes. It can be achieved by exploring, improving, and realizing graduates’ potential. His hope is in line with Undiksha’s motto “Dharmaning sajjana umerdhyaken widyaguna”, namely the duty of an educated person is implementing knowledge and character.
He explained, “We cannot predict our future. Therefore, students must be agile, that is, they can quickly adapt to the situation at that time. For example in this technology era, we must be able to take advantage of technology”.
He also invited the graduates to implement the 5C principles, they are: critical, creative, collaborative, communicative and character to be able to compete in the workfield. Undiksha is always improving the quality of graduates, by preparing a curriculum that is relevant to needs and cooperating with other universities, government agencies and business agencies to apply students’ knowledge in order to develop their competence.
At this graduation ceremony, the top achievers at the university level for Doctoral Program was achieved by Dr. Surayanah, from the Elementary Education Study Program, with a GPA of 3.76, and study period for 3 years 9 months. The Master Program was achieved by Ni Kadek Ayumi Swandevi, M.Pd., from Counseling Guidance Study Program with a GPA of 3.95, study period 1 year 11 months.
Top achiever from Bachelor Program is achieved by Ni Putu Novi Darmini, S.Pd., from the Home Industry Education Study Program, with a GPA of 3.97, and 4 years of study period. Last, from the Diploma III Program is achieved by Komang Pasek Oka Sukasana, A.Md., from the Informatics Management Study Program with a GPA of 3.95, study period 2 years 11 months. (pr)
