Singaraja – Postgraduate Program of Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) graduated a new doctorate student. She is Ni Kadek Juliantari from the Study Program of Language Education. She took a Public Exam at Ganesha III Room – Undiksha, Wednesday (5/8/2020). She completed her two-year study with summa cum laude and a GPA of 3.98.
Although her public exam was held in the Covid-19 pandemic, it did not reduce Juniantari’s passion to show her best-quality to present her dissertation.
She wrote a dissertation entitled “Literacy Program in a Bilingual Context: Multi-model Analysis and Impact of the Implementation”. For the examiners, she explained that this research was conducted as an effort to increase the use of Balinese language both in the academic and non-academic areas as well as to implement Bali Governor Regulation Number 80 in 2018 concerning Protection and the Use of Balinese Language, Script, and Literature.
After the exam, Juliantari who was born in 1987 claimed that her main principal in completing her dissertation was how to feel comfortable. She acknowledged that her success in regretting the study because of the promoter and co-promoters encouragement as well as the Postgraduate Principals. In the future, she will be committed to continuing to develop language science that is not only focused on the Indonesian language but also the Balinese language which is a part of the Balinese Culture. It was also stated directly to the examiners. Juliantari who works as a lecture at STKIP Agama Hindu Amplapura said, “I will never stop writing. I see there is still a lot of research and articles that can be written”.
Rector of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd. claimed his pride in Juliantari’s success in completing two-year study under the standard-rules at Undiksha. She is expected to be a role model for other students. Besides, she is expected to introduce Undiksha, especially postgraduate doctoral program to the wider community.
He said, “Her knowledge is expected to be used for helping others and community. I hope she could spread information and various things about Undiksha”.
The Director of Postgraduate Program at Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Gusti Putu Suharta, M.Sc. conveyed that Juliantari’s success in completing her studies in two years, it was not only because of the lectures services but also because she was a diligent and hard worker. The acceleration of student graduation without reducing quality has now become one of the main programs designed by Postgraduate Program at Undiksha.
To achieve this program, Undiksha needs support from students by preparing their final projects earlier. Likewise, the publication of their articles. Suharta stated, “We hope that master and doctoral students have to prepare their final project (thesis or dissertation, red) since the second semester and also their publication”. (PR)
