Singaraja-This achievement made by Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) students in 2022 is not only in innovation but also in sports. This time it came from the Tekno Futsal Tournament held by the Student Senate of the Faculty of Engineering, Udayana University, on April 9 and 10, 2022. Undiksha won first place, as well as repeating the previous year’s achievements.
In this Bali match, Undiksha lowered its maximum strength, with a line-up of players, Kadek Dwi Rama Saputra, I Made Gelgel Jani, Gede Deffa Ade Darsana, Febrio Audry Putra Sembiring, Kadek Nova Juniartha. The players were supported by substitutes, namely Komang Sudiarta, Kadek Andika Kristiawan, Ketut Boby Suryawan, Made Aldi Darma Yasa, Zainul Arifin, I Putu Angga Kerta Leona Putra, and Putu Gede Krisna Bayu.
In the semifinals at the Lilabhuana Sports Center, Denpasar, Undiksha faced the National Education University. The fierce match ended with a 3-3 draw, followed by a penalty shoot-out with a 7-6 thin score. The victory brought Undiksha to the final match against the Bali Tourism Polytechnic. The team made by the coach, I Nyoman Sudarmada, S.Or., M.Or won with a landslide score of 3-1. This result also brought Undiksha back to being the first winner and brought a rotating trophy for the second time.
This achievement was conveyed directly to the Undiksha leadership, who was received by the Vice-Chancellor for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Public Relations Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd. He appreciated this achievement. “This team is amazing, they still maintain their champion from last year’s first place, and now they are still fierce and still win this event even though they are still in a pandemic situation,” he said.
This achievement is expected to increase the team’s enthusiasm to take part in other matches, one of which is the 2022 National Student Sports Week (POMNAS). He also invites other students who have sports talent to join the Undiksha team. “For other students who like futsal, and soccer to join because this is an opportunity to show their abilities so that everything will be facilitated by institutions, both sports facilities, and coaches that we have at Undiksha,” he invited.
Meanwhile, I Nyoman Sudarmada said that in facing this prestigious match, preparations were made to the maximum. This is also supported by the extraordinary enthusiasm of the players. “Regarding the readiness of the team in this tournament, there are several obstacles. However, they can be overcome due to the commitment of the players. Although there are still some holidays, we have been able to take the time to come to Singaraja and prepare,” he explained. This team will continue to prepare themselves by doing routine exercises so that they will be ready to take part in other matches, including POMNAS. (lpsy)
