Singaraja- Students of the Department of Law and Citizenship at the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences (FHIS) at the University of Education of Ganesha (Undiksha) alternately show themselves in prestigious events. Not only in a competition but also in the 2019 Asian Youth International Model United Nations (AYIMUN). She is Bella Salsabila Firmansyah. This Law Study Program student took part in the event on August 25-28 at the Putrajaya International Convention Center, Kuala Lumpur.
Confirmed, Thursday (22/8/2019), she admitted that this was the first time she had participated in the event and was the only Undiksha representative. “Very happy and excited because I can also represent Bali, Indonesia in this international event,” she said. To get this opportunity, this semester VII student must follow a series of administrative stages. “I tried to follow step by step, starting from the registration process and the selection process. And this lasted for approximately 5 months, starting from the registration and selection process, “she explained.
An online selection was also passed, by answering a number of questions on the AYIMUN 2019 website. “Then it was announced which delegates had passed, after which they were asked to make a position paper according to which organization and country they obtained. Incidentally, I joined the World Trade Organization (WTO),” she said.
Head of the Department of Law and Citizenship, Dr. I Nengah Suastika, M.Pd explained that the United Nations model is in the form of a simulation or academic activity. Students or students can learn about diplomacy, international relations, and the unity of nations. “The event also teaches research, public speaking, debate, and writing skills in critical thinking, collaboration, and leadership skills,” he explained. He hopes that in the future more and more students will be able to appear in international events, including in competitions.
