Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) continues to improve facilities and infrastructure to support learning. The largest state university in North Bali has designed an integrated research laboratory. The development was proposed to the Buleleng Regency Government. This was presented at the Buleleng Regional Research, Development and Innovation Agency, Wednesday (29/7/2020).
The presentation was attended by the Deputy Chancellor for Planning, Finance, Administration, and Human Resources, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd. He who was accompanied by the Head of Planning and Cooperation, I Gusti Putu Anom Arimbawa, S.T., said Undiksha as a Public Service Agency (BLU) already had several labs spread across several faculties. However, an integrated research laboratory is still a primary need and has been included in the infrastructure development plan at Undiksha for the 2019-2026 period. This infrastructure is one of the requirements for pure science study program accreditation and provides excellent service (excellent services) for the wider community, strengthening graduate competencies, as well as supporting programs for student exchange and research collaboration.
In addition, it can also be used by other parties who need it with a mutually agreed mechanism. Specifically for the Buleleng Regency Government and other districts in Bali, this laboratory can be used as a means of supporting programs and activities of educational and training institutions, research and development institutions as well as improving the quality of education programs in schools. This laboratory can also be used by state and private universities in Bali in accordance with applicable regulations. “The first is that there is this proposal because of the existing conditions of Undiksha. Second, we want to provide a slightly exaggerated formula for development in Buleleng Regency,” he explained.
Given its high utility power, it is hoped that the construction of this laboratory will receive support from the Buleleng Regency Government. As planned, the location for this infrastructure development is on the Undiksha central campus land. “We have prepared the land and it is certain that it belongs to Undiksha,” he said.
Head of the Buleleng Regional Research, Development, and Innovation Agency, dr. Gede Wiartana, M. Kes responded positively to the proposal submitted by Undiksha. His party will conduct a study that is also coordinated with other Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD). “For this, we need input from related offices and agencies and then discuss it again,” he said. On this occasion, it was revealed that there was support for the construction of this laboratory from the Youth and Sports Education Office and the Public Works and Public Housing Office because they were considered to provide benefits for the region.
