Singaraja- Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) through the Tax Center showed the commitment in supporting the government to optimize tax reporting services. This commitment was realized through the deployment of tax volunteers whose release and debriefing took place on Friday, January 31, 2025.
The event was attended by the Directorate General of Taxes (DGT) Bali and the Head of Undiksha’s Planning and Cooperation Bureau, Prof. Dr. Komang Setemen, S.T., M.T. On the occasion, Prof. Setemen said that the existence of the Tax Center at Undiksha is very important because it can help the tax reporting process, especially personal tax reporting. Furthermore, he emphasized that tax volunteers are not only expected to be effective educators in terms of taxation, but also must be tax-obedient role models. Prof. Setemen also hopes that education about tax obligations can be carried out on an ongoing basis, thus increasing public awareness of tax compliance.
Meanwhile, the representative of DGT Bali Regional Office, Dedik Herry Susetyo, as Functional Tax Expert, explained that the collaboration between DGT Bali and Undiksha has been going on for four years. This year, Undiksha is trusted to select 34 tax volunteers who will be assigned to the Singaraja Tax Service Office (KPP) and Undiksha Tax Center. Dedik emphasized the importance of this opportunity for students to hone skills and take advantage of direct experience in the world of work. According to him, this opportunity is very valuable, considering that tax volunteers have the opportunity to interact directly with the world of taxation, which can also expand their knowledge and skills in this field.
On the occasion, Dedik also stated that in 2025, tax volunteers will work with a new system, Cortex, which has been implemented since January 1, 2025. This system is expected to improve the efficiency and accuracy of tax reporting. DGT Bali hopes that cooperation with Undiksha can continue to provide broader tax education, especially for the taxpayer community in the KPP Pratama Singaraja area.
This activity was also attended by the Head of Undiksha Tax Center and tax volunteer students who are ready to contribute in efforts to increase tax awareness in the community. With this program, it is hoped that a more optimal tax reporting system can be realized and increase public knowledge about the importance of tax obligations. (hms)
