Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) pays serious attention to the entrepreneurial development of the academic community. This is demonstrated by preparing “Plaza Undiksha”, a platform for product promotion. This system is in-launching regularly virtual by Undiksha Deputy Chancellor for Planning, Administration, Finance, and Human Resources, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd, Thursday (6/11/2020).
This system was created by the Undiksha Business Management Agency (BPU). This is inseparable from the rapid development of technology, which is marked by the presence of the industrial revolution 4.0. “This (industrial revolution, ed) requires all human beings to be able to adapt, one of them is with the touch of a finger that can enter various existing market prospects. Seeing that potential, we were assigned to make this platform usable by stakeholders in Undiksha,” said the Secretary of BPU, Dr. I Wayan Widiana, S.Pd., M.Pd.
As explained further, this platform can be used to market business products, both those produced by students, and researchers, and those who want to work with Undiksha. “The product can be marketed through the plaza. undiksha.ac.id. This system is very similar to other platforms that are currently developing,” he said.
This academic at the Undiksha Faculty of Education added that this platform is not only related to business. More than that, it is also able to become an educational event, especially for students to create innovations in an effort to increase competitiveness.
Vice Chancellor 2 Wayan Lasmawan expressed his appreciation for the “birth” of this platform. According to him, it will add to the beauty of Undiksha’s color in society. “One of the rationales for this platform is to accommodate the tying of ropes that are owned by all those at Undiksha, including bridging and elaborating those outside Undiksha to make Undiksha closer to the community. To make Undiksha more meaningful and significant in society,” he said.
The creation of this platform is not something that is talkative or participatory. Not only profit oriented. This is a necessity in order to develop Undiksha in a better direction. “This system is not only profit-oriented, but we build this to prioritize the elaboration and mediation of the performance of the Undiksha community and the surrounding community. To be able to achieve a better life. This is the meaning of harmony,” emphasized Lasmawan who is also the Chairperson of the Forum WR/PR II of State Universities throughout Indonesia.
Delivered further, the use of this platform as a media promotion is not only for products or goods that are produced manually or non-academic. But also able to accommodate the marketing of academic products, research products, and services from academics. “How great would this (product-ed) be if the public could introduce it further? This is what we want to happen,” he said. Evaluation will be carried out on an ongoing basis for this platform, so that it will provide more benefits, both for Undiksha and the general public. (hms)
